United broke the golden rule when signing Casemiro...no Brazilians over 30.
I disagree regards any player over 30
Depends on player, injury record, fitness , attitude
I think it depends what club and what style of play also
There are exceptions to that golden rule. I've never heard of this rule by the way.
Cafu and Thiago Silva are two examples

Older players really need to be a complement in a side, not the main event. Usually the most successful older players have been a mainstay in a side for years, where the coaching staff have better knowledge of where they need to be supported to keep them at a high level.

If we are buying young talent from the Championship then Archie Gray from Leeds would be an excellent signing - can play various positions both in defence and midfield

Unfortunately his dad would come with him.

Hasn't he got the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich sniffing round?

That Szmodics isn't really a striker, he's more of an attacking midfielder/second striker. He's also 29 this year, and has had one good season, ie this one. If we're looking for anybody from the Championship I'd rather go for Summerville at Leeds.

Definitely.

The gossip rags have linked them with him but who knows whether they actually are or not.

If we are looking at Olise, that would be superb.

I think his potential ceiling is higher than that of Eze & he is younger.

Eze is a fine player though, I just think Olise is better for the now, & for the future.

Realistically, how much is Olise likely to cost? And is that where we are likely to lump a big chunk of whatever we're allowed to spend?

Has a release clause believed to be around 60m, i think?

It's probably bullshit but I like the bit where he supposedly wants Champions League football but also wants to play, puts us in a sweet spot for serious players.

I think there's been a few obvious cautionary tales at Man City of late and young players are finally starting to think twice about a move there. Arteta doesn't seem overly keen on rotation and I suppose with Klopp on his way out, Liverpool are an unknown for next season.
