Hard not to be a bit tin hat-ish when Man U are given 'exceptional allowances' relating to covid and takeover costs to ensure they meet PSR.

Unless that was a clickbait type article and all was above board, I haven't bothered reading into it too much cos PSR does my head in.

I read somewhere that it's a nothing-to-see-here thing, based on the fact that they're registered on the New York stock exchange and so have to disclose more detailed breakdowns of the finances. Something like that anyway.

Exactly that. The only reason it looks amiss is that they have to disclose it, and most clubs don't. Apparently Everton had £8m of similar Covid costs, and as their turnover is about a 5th of Man U's, it looks reasonable. I forget what they said on the radio that we claimed yesterday, think it might have been about £20m. In any case, every club put their claims in and they were either agreed to under the rules, or weren't as the case may be. Nothing to see here, basically.

We do need to get people out because we've just got too many bodies now. You see how much of a joke Chelsea's squad is. The problem is a lot of other clubs are really slow to get started. It seemed like the gears didn't even start turning at most clubs until the players were back in training.

Ill never understand how and why there isnt a cap of how many players you can sign. What chelsea are doing is literally taking the piss

It sort of is and it’s sort of just idiocy. Theyll never keep 50+ players happy, which means they’re going to be constantly scrambling to sell them or loan them out. Eventually, they’ll start receiving lower fees than they paid for them and PSR will bite. That is, unless they can keep finding loop holes like selling hotels to themselves. Now that bit really is taking the piss

Or the powers at be change the rules to benefit chelsea

Its just a laughable situation

Take your tin hat off mate. The rules may well change but they’ll be voted on by the 20 clubs. They’ll benefit Chelsea if their interests align with the majority, that’s it.

Money talks though doesnt it? You only need a certain amount of votes to push through new rules.

Your own, plus those of another thirteen clubs to give a two-thirds majority.

Yep, you only have to look at the PSR rules changes we wanted to push through. It would have benefitted at least half the clubs including Everton and Forest, yet they all voted against it apart from Citeh and one other. A specific rule change for one club definitely wouldn't get through. The decision then would be is the item (for example the hotel sale) already covered in the rules one way or the other. If not then another rule change is needed, hence the one to stop sales of assets between companies with links to the owners. I'm not sure but I think it went through but we voted against it

I do find it strange that a majority of clubs voted against our proposal considering most are struggling to meet the current rules

If we hadn't been able to sell the ground to a connected company we'd probably have had a points deduction and might not be in the Premier League now. I think we also sold a few random bits of land we owned when NSWE first took over from Dr Shit Shoes.

I really do not think we can let both Archer and Duran go - one maybe but we need to fill that space with another who is deemed better - we need 3 out and out attacking players

I'm not criticising why we voted against it, (although as the rules don't back date and I'm not sure what else we have to sell....), just showing that prem rules changes need the votes for different things and showing examples of different ones.

I assume you mean an actual horse and not just his...

Otherwise you're being far too kind, they're used to that much after the glazers.

I do wonder what we would have done differently without the PSR in place . Would we still be after Felix with his ridiculous wages ? .

🚨 Aston Villa are still trying to sign Lutsharel Geertruida but are yet to reach an agreement with Feyenoord — they want €35m.
