I'm not overly impressed with this pursuit of Felix. Strikes me he's mostly famous for Atletico massively overspending on him.

Do you think our manager is swayed by what was previously paid for him?

John Lucky is one of those players I've heard of, saw him a couple of times when he was on loan at Chelsea, but don't really know anything about. What's his jib like and will I appreciate how it's cut?

Maybe they paid over £100m for him because he was one of the world’s best teenagers?

Watched a couple of highlights reels (yes, I know) of him yesterday.  You can see why we'd want to bin of Diaby for him, he's a properly good player - bit of a cross between a centre forward and an attacking midfielder.  The one thing with him was that he seems to know how to do the difficult bit, but can't quite convert that in to goals.  Ollie used to have the same problem, but most definitely doesn't now.

Reckon him and Ollie would be lethal together, even as they are now.  But if you have a similar Ollie-type renaissance, manage to get him so that he's actually scoring rather than doing well but not scoring, and turn that 7-or-8 goals a season he currently gets in to 12-or-14 goals a season ... well, along with everything else he offers, he feels very much like the sort of player you'd pay north of €100m for to me.

We still need a striker if Duran does go though. Felix isn't a 9 at all.

Quick check it looks like we've lost 28 goals and 19 assists (including FA cup and Europe). We're gonna need to make that up some how

Luiz 10 goals and 10 assists
Diaby 10 goals 9 assists
Duran 8 goals

Looks like Luis Santos Rodrigues will leave Real Barca on a free and apparently we are interested. El Quicko as he’s known for his lightening speed admires Unai and has said in an interview with Fabrizio Percy that he always wanted to play under Emery.

There’s not many number nines around though is there
I mean we have 2 spares at the moment but  probably getting rid of both of them so you think they have someone lined up but in today’s football the goal is tally spread across a few players

He probably is, but if you ignore that his record has been pretty decent. Just not £100+ decent.

Trying to price footballers at the top end along any sort value for money line is futile. For instance Grealish hasn’t contributed £100m worth for Man City but they needed to pay that for us to sell.

I can find no such player. Fabrizio Percy really! A good made up effort.

Felix is definitely NOT a £114m player, in the same way that Coutinho wasn't a £146m player.

Atleti and Barca blew their brains out with these 2 signings.

Just because they conned themselves (or got conned) into paying two or three times what these two players were worth, doesn't shift the dial on their true value, which is between one third and a half of what they paid.

It ain't up to the Villa to subsidise Atleti's stupidity

No guarantees of course but someone like Tielemans would be getting possibly twice as many minutes as he did last season, so possibly he'd up his contribution simply by way of being on the pitch more.
