If Diaby and Duran both go I wouldn't be massively shocked if we replace them with a single player.
I don’t mind if he has a partner as long as he’s class.

Blimey we did really really well to finish 4th with all these poor players….Dougie wasn’t as good last couple of months but he was far from desperate & Diaby wasnt as good as his price tag but it wasn’t like he was awful all season he just wasn’t Bailey level

Bailey has had a few different levels in a Villa shirt, the worst of which Diaby hasn't remotely reached. He had a mixed first season but that was miles better than what Bailey did in his first season. Luiz is the best midfielder to have played for us in years, replacing him with likes of Onana and/or Barkley on all known form over the past few seasons is a downgrade no matter what way you look at it.

I back the one player solution (possibly posted it previously, can’t remember).  I think a player like Havertz that can cover Watkins, if needed, but is adept/better as the second striker would be ideal.  I feel the Diaby cash is being used to fund Onana so we may need to take a haircut elsewhere.

Morgan/Buendia/Ramsey/Tielemans/McGiin can be used when a Ten is preferred.

Buendia will become the natural Diaby replacement .

As it stands might be Buendia and Ro(d)gers competing for the number 10 behind Watkins. Tielemans can also play there even Mc Ginn and perhaps Barkley.

People were jeering Bailey off the pitch in his first season…

It’s a matter of opinion, that’s all. All known form over the last few years? I’ve always rated Dougie, but plenty of people recognise that he’s never played as well as he did throughout 2023 at any other time, apart from maybe post-lockdown when we stayed up. It’s definitely not the certainty you portray it as that he’s better than Tielemans or Onana, nor RB last season.

We conceded too many goals last season. Sort that and we can seriously challenge .
Onana and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in DM will sort that. Then Tielemens, Barkley and McGinn can be used in more offensive roles. Bailey, Buedia, Ramsey and Rodgers too in supprot of Watkins.

OMG, can you imagine? We wouldn’t need defenders!

He got two assists and a goal that season. I can’t wait till Diaby reaches those giddy heights.

Do you think that we put in a bid before pulling the trigger on Amadou Onana?
We can't want another brick wall in midfield.

Aston Villa are considering making a move for Norwegian midfield sensation Sverre Nypan this summer.

The 17-year-old has been making waves with his performances for Rosenborg, drawing comparisons to Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard. His impressive skills and potential have caught the attention of top Premier League clubs.

Does this tell us that the Barren isn't ready for full tilt at the Premier League or that someone else may be going?  Such as Ramsey? Onana and Guendouzi, wow!
