It's not very often that Emery starts both Watkins and Duran together. Bournemouth would have been a perfect opportunity to do that.

It's not very often that Emery starts both Watkins and Duran together. Bournemouth would have been a perfect opportunity to do that.

I'm not a football historian, but I'm pretty sure that Emery hasn't really played two strikers as a regular thing anywhere he's managed.

I think if we hold on to Duran for another season or 2 hell be worth at least double what we paid.  He has something about him - and I think if its tamed he will be a top player. 

Unless hes a nightmare to manage - I think hes worth keeping as I don't think well find anyone better for whatever we would get for him.

Given what he's shown up to now, I wouldn't be selling Duran unless someone offered us so much money that it outweighed his potential future value as a player for us.

And what he's shown up to now suggests he's got the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world.

I don’t think we’ll be spending £50m in total let alone on one player unless UE decides that he needs to sacrifice Martinez or Luiz to get a few players in.

I agree, if he can be managed there is a possibility of a top player in there. He’s quick, strong, deceptively quick and totally unpredictable. The latter can play havoc with his teammates but also with the opposition. Let’s hope his ego can be managed 🙏🏼

Re: Duran - it's more his attitude that concerns me more than the ability he's shown. You never know when he's next going to throw his toys out of the pram. It's more a question of whether Emery is prepared to put up with occasional strops or whether he'll want someone who's more of a team player.

If Chelsea wanted him, as was rumoured, and they came in with a decent offer, I'd be happy enough to let him go, but that figure needs to be around 40mill with plenty of add ons.
