3 CB in a back 5 is the solution and way forward for us.

We need a taller, more solid version of Carlos, with less propensity to switch off. A right footed Mings would be great, with Konsa in that flexible RB/ RCB role. But that is reliant on Digne and Moreno being able to get forward on the left, which when both were fit worked brilliantly as they could interchange around 60-70 minutes and stay fresh, but Digne looked utterly fucked by the closing day the poor bloke. It's the one position you need 2 fit. Or a Konsa option on the left, which could, in theory be Mings. Whichever, a big, aerially strong right sided centre half with Carlos off the wage bill is a must.

Exactly.

Only for Mings injury, I expect we would have played that a lot last season. If you have the players for it it's fine, didn't Chelsea win a CL with the likes of James and Chilwell pushed forward, but Cash and Digne are absolutely not suited to that role. I think it's creating problems that we don't need.

Agreed on moving Carlos on, he looks the part but he really isn't. Mings/Torres on one side, Konsa/new CB on the other ..that's very solid. I think one of Digne/Moreno will move on this summer too, might be Moreno. He never looked fully fit last season after injury and missed Ramsey in front of him. Cash on the other side, has never really been an Emery favourite, so wouldn't be surprised if there were truth in the links to the likes of Milan (not a bad club!).

No matter who our defence are, it's critical we replace Kamara in front of them.

There's been loads of articles about us being interested in Dumfries so there's your upgrade on Cash, if he can be persuaded. Dumfries is entering the last year of his contract and demanding more than Inter are prepared to pay. Talk that Inter are prepared to sell him.

As far as I’m aware he doesn’t play in a back 4 though, he does his best work when playing wing back much the same as Frimpong at Leverkusen.

Yeah but we'll be changing to wing-backs when Mings comes back

One of our full backs usually ends up being a wing back anyway, so it fits.

I think Mings will adopt the Lenglet role personally.

Coming in for games here and there in league and cup.

It was a very serious injury and I imagine it will be the case he'll have lost some pace so that will impact on him playing in our high line.

However we will still be excellent option for rotation and also games where we're 1 up and just need to see out the last 15 minutes so still a part to play.

I don't mind selling Cash but wouldn't that leave us with no RBs? Presumably we'd replace Cash, but that would still leave us with just the one RB.

Unless we're calling Konsa a RB now.

We'd sign a replacement yes. Then Konsa still as option and the young Serb kid to give chances to as the season goes on.

It's interesting with Cash. We signed him for about 15m. He's since played in 2-3 generally fantastic defensive seasons for us, also became an international in that time and yet people would be happy to sell him for what we paid?

I think he's comfortably in 25m bracket if Emerson Royal is given he's a Spurs squad player. Cash contrary to popular belief has started around 80% under Emery. I think it's a bit misguided that he's clueless in the system just because he sometimes doesn't quite step up with the line for offsides.

Towards the end of the season Konsa was really struggling at RB v Olympiakos, Brighton and Liverpool.

Cash seems a decent sort, but he's always got a penalty concession in him, slows our forward play down way too often and has a poor delivery. He's not terrible but his negatives outweigh the positives for me and he's the obvious person to upgrade this summer. Anything 25m or over and I'd happily sell.

At RB, Konsa is all that but even worse on the ball. Cash gets into great positions but just that delivery isn't up to standard. One of those we miss when he isn't there.

According to these people, we value McKennie at EUR 15m, as opposed to Juventus valuing him at EUR 30m.

http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-need-e25-30m-convince-aston-villa-monchi-open-idea-price-isnt-right/

It sounds like we want £45m + McKennie, if they are to be believed.

Douglas Luiz' stats for Brazil last night against Mexico in Houston:

74 minutes played
96% passing accuracy (45/47)
55 touches
100% successful dribbles
4 passes into the final third
4/5 accurate long balls
1 clearance
1 headed clearance
3 recoveries
3 ground duels won

No wonder Juve think he’s only worth 10m

*eye roll thingy
