Happy with the fee. By all accounts we said we wanted more than Anderson, we got more than Anderson.

I'm not, I expected a 'Bidding War'.

£117m for a player who struggled to make a 5 yard pass less than 12 months ago ain’t bad.

That’s the definition of trying to tell yourself bad news is good. He’s a brilliant player, integral to our play. Anyone thinking he’s easily replaceable or not all that is just wrong. He’s been a huge success and we’re going to have to spend the money well.

We've already replaced him, for about half his fee. Well done, Villa.

Doesn’t matter where he goes to us really does it he’s going and that’s all that matters

I actually think he’s made the right choice of Chelsea over Arsenal for what it’s worth
Alonso is a far better manager than Arteta and will play the sort of football that Rogers will enjoy Arteta just plays NFL football
Rogers would die a death there

I think Cole Palmer will leave Chelsea now probably go to Man Untied

I'm not sure about that. There's no guarantee Alonso will last, you know what Chelsea are like.

Alonso failed at Real Madrid because the players were all The Big I Am and didn't want to be coached / micromanaged by him. Rosenior failed at Chelsea for more or less the same reasons didn't he?

I think he'll be less restricted in a structure and tactical sense and teaming up with his ex City youth buddies, London and obviously another extreme increase in salary would appeal. I think he'll do well....until the docs and owners get involved.

isn't it more likely to be Cole 'bad hair day' Palmer? - cue bid from the Jawdies or the Redmancs.

Other than the fee, the best thing about this is it’s all done quickly.
No ‘will he, won’t he’ for weeks

117m is also fine of we have a sell-on clause. They always offload their players for stupid money.

I don't think you get to put sell-on clauses into the contract of a £1117m sale!

Every fucking time every fucking time we stick our heads above the parapets they chop it off. Started with Yorke and Milner and Young and Delphi and Grealish and now Rogers. It’s an absolute skewed playing field.

This is either the start of the end of the cycle, or the start of something even more exciting than the last few years. Over to you Unai and co.

Not sure if we will, to be honest. I’m assuming we have add ons though.

If Boro cut is on profit, then we are looking at £97m or above, I think.
