Absolutely mental decision from him. Disappointing for us, but we need to fill that gap and our wide now. This is really becoming a summer of major change.

Good price, a blow to us and I think Emery loved him, but we move on. Going to be a transitional season this year.

I hope it goes spectacularly wrong for him and of course Chelsea.

He will be going to some nonsense like Everton on loan after two seasons and twelve managers.

Problem is we really can’t afford transitional seasons.

Doesn’t matter where he goes to us really does it he’s going and that’s all that matters

I actually think he’s made the right choice of Chelsea over Arsenal for what it’s worth
Alonso is a far better manager than Arteta and will play the sort of football that Rogers will enjoy Arteta just plays NFL football
Rogers would die a death there

I think Cole Palmer will leave Chelsea now probably go to Man Untied

I'm not sure about that. There's no guarantee Alonso will last, you know what Chelsea are like.

Would take mid-table if we win a trophy.

£117m for a player who struggled to make a 5 yard pass less than 12 months ago ain’t bad.

Summerville-a inbound?

I hope so, Wee Jimmy is too good for the Championship, he'll have to go and tbh is the only one lf their players I liked the look of.

Not ideal, but i'm also a bit excited about what this opens up for us in terms of incomings. A real talent, but as long as this is the last major outgoing this year, one i'm reasonably comfortable with.

The other thing, the realtionship between rogers and the fans has always felt a bit more distant than other players, the booing and ironic cheering last season made it feel like his time with us was always going to be relatively short.

Chelsea as the destination is a massive gamble for him, there's a real chance of alonso being a failure, so i really hope it turns into a disaster

I seem to remember Middlesbrough fans saying they’ve had us over when we signed him so expect him to be brilliant.

That’s the definition of trying to tell yourself bad news is good. He’s a brilliant player, integral to our play. Anyone thinking he’s easily replaceable or not all that is just wrong. He’s been a huge success and we’re going to have to spend the money well.

He was shite for the first few months last season, and was laughed and jeered at in the home game against Bologna on 25th September.

Would anybody in the ground have imagined that 10 months later we'd be getting £117m for him?
