If Anderson played for us, we'd be tugging over him the way we do Bouba.
I actually prefer Wharton though. Rolls Royce of a player.
I like both and I also like Alex Scott of Bournemouth (the male footballer, before you start ...)

We should be all over him & MGW in a world where Rogers leaves. (Both not either or as Scott is a different player but would be very useful as part of the rebuild)

Anderson was to be fair outstanding against us in the EL first leg. Ran all over Tielemans in particular. Roles reversed in the second leg where he hardly got a kick (of the ball), he got kicked plenty including memorably McGinn pinging one off his head. The two league games I remember little of him with our midfield being dominant in both games. He's obviously a very good player, Villa games aside I've seen little of him admittedly, is he really all that? Wharton always seems to play well against us, technically is fantastic. Seems like he could go a bit further in his career. Odd one not to have in the England squad when retaining possession is a perennial problem.

I'd have either. I just wonder whether Wharton would disappear in a better team.

For me Bouba is a better player than both, with a much higher ceiling but that doesn't matter if he's out for half the season every year. Anderson, so far, has had the massive advantage of staying fit.

Anderson is a solid 7/8 out of 10 player most games I've seen him (except the second leg of the SF at Villa Park when our little wizzard did an absolute twist on him).

Bouba is almost McGrath-like at times. Not overly flashy. But looks in total control most of the game and makes it look effortless.

If he could throw in a few scissor kicks out his own penalty area and backheel the ball off the line every now and then he might actually pass as the son of God.

He's unspectacular, but I've rarely seen a player who seems to always make the right decision, and quickly, both in and out of possession.  The 'unspectacular' bit might limit the amount he'd go for, but I'd definitely be looking to get him if he became available.  Given some of our best performances came when Bouba was fit, and we had two DMs with him and Onana, Wharton basically give us three players who could all play that position to a high level.

Not going to happen though, unfortunately.

Bouba is certainly working on the dodgy knees.

Apparently, Morgan Rogers has respectfully communicated his desire to leave to senior figures at Villa.

"Arsenal Roundtable has been told Morgan Rogers prefers Arsenal, with informal contact in place over a potential deal.

Morgan Rogers has given preference to joining Arsenal if he leaves Aston Villa, HandofArsenal has told Arsenal Roundtable.

The Aston Villa attacker continues to draw interest from elsewhere, but those clubs are already aware that Arsenal is where Rogers would like to end up.

Rogers has also respectfully communicated his desire to leave to senior figures at Villa, with Arsenal now monitoring whether that situation can develop into a deal."

Need to leave to win a trophy? Oh

Need to leave to get in the England team? Oh

Need to leave to play champions league? Oh

Sick to death of this shit. And now that we are the club who does the above it is all revealed for the bollocks it always was.
