I would much rather we held on to him, but if he is to leave, then it has to me £100 million minimum.
A "tug of war" would achieve that I guess, but they are trying their best to sell him again.....

Beeb Gossip....

Morgan Rogers likely to be centre of transfer tug of war this summer, Juventus gaining hope of signing Alisson Becker and Liverpool owners believe Arne Slot will still be head coach next season.

Aston Villa and England midfielder Morgan Rogers looks likely to be at the centre of a transfer tug of war this summer after Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea renewed their interest in the 23-year-old. (Times - subscription required)

Buendia had a far better game than Rogers, doesn't mean he's a better player but that's why their threads contrast.
That's your opinion, and that's fine.

Mine is that he was equally profligate with the ball first half as Rogers.

I think the difference in the threads is more to do with a very narrow focus on the one thing Buendia did well, which was chase down the ball for the second goal (and kudos to the lad for having done that). Absent that, their performances were near identical in my view.

Considering he made twice as many passes, had more tackles and had a higher pass success rate it's not overly opinon based. Rogers had a poor game, it happens.

Arogent and overrated. Take the £100 million.

Absolute nonsense.

Indeed. Anyone who has watched Rogers over a period of time will realise he’s really good and has been central to a lot of best play. He might be going through a form dip, but he’s excellent and that’s also why he draws interest from other clubs.

We might come out of this ok, and we might need to do it, but selling him is not a positive. Anyone saying it is is probably doing the psychological defence thing.

He's not been 'excellent' for some time Paul and his body language was really poor last night.  In his defence, I would say that he has had a meteoric rise, so is still developing.  I'd also add that I don't think playing 'number 10' or on the right suits him.  He looks far more comfortable playing on the left and cutting inside.  Needs must I guess though.

It's just the amount of times he needlessly gives the ball away or gets caught on it that is the major issue.  In some games he produces moments of absolute magic which papers over that, but those moments haven't been happening recently.

He is young and developing - he got 18 direct goal involvements in the league last year and he’s on track to do similar this year. That’s pretty bloody good, there will always be fluctuations in form.

Yes, 2 key passes to Rogers' 1. :)

My view is that they were both profligate when we were poor – I distinctly recall cussing them both in quick succession – and were both much more effective when we had more control. Emi had more touches, as you'd expect in his position, and got a turnover assist on top of that, so you'd have to say he has the edge. There wasn't a million miles between their performances, however.

I love Rogers and rate him incredibly highly.
When he is ‘on it’ there are few better in the league than him.

The problem is, his periods of being ‘on it’ are very short. This season has mirrored last season exactly.
A really poor start, then an incredible purple patch, followed by a deterioration that made him look useless.
We talked about him being jaded, exhausted. We couldn’t understand why he was never dropped or substituted.

This season is exactly the same. He is in that deterioration phase where he barely looks like a footballer let alone an elite one.
I don’t know what’s wrong with him and I don’t understand how a player can have such terrific highs and awful lows.
But I thought his body language and his effort really looked off last night. Really off.

I did think watching the latter part of the game that actually Emery hates him and is trying to kill him by making him play every minute of every game.
