Based on the rules we’ll probably end up selling him.

We’d be £40-50m better off once both deals are done and have an oven ready replacement - assuming Elliot’’s good.

Annoying as it is, this sort of strategy is necessary to get round the accountancy rules: 1. sell high, 2. having an integrated replacements within the club.

that’s not me wanting it to happen, just conscious we need to sell at a high price, when we can, to avoid the problems we’ve had this summer.

Knowing our strategy for replacing early (Tielemans for Luiz, Duran for Watkins, Malen for Bailey/Watkins, Garcia for Cash, Maatsen for Digne) then Elliot in to let Rogers go next summer wouldn't be the biggest surprise ever.

They’re completely different places though, aren’t they?

The plan must surely to be to harness the talents of the 2 of them ...

It probably would have been before the shackles of PSR, but no it seems we are abiding by the rules.

This season yes, but being as we might still need to match UEFA rules next season, Rogers is a big cash injection.

Sell Rogers after that great link up play, especially that sublime flick to Madueke? No way!

He seems to be slowly but surely playing himself back into form.

Well done. Another £5m to his transfer tag as soon as the season is over.

Let’s hope yesterday kicks him into gear. He did some great stuff last night.

Good F365 write-up

Quote
MORGAN ROGERS

Incredible turn led to the first big chance. It was a brilliant first touch; he got the ball out of his feet, passed to Madueke, who spurned the chance. It was an awesome No.10 performance, assisting Madueke’s first England goal. Anderson’s pass into him was flicked first time to put the Arsenal winger in on goal, done so casually, yet bloody brilliantly. He could put Jude Bellingham under some serious pressure next summer.
