Didn't realise Betis had such a big stadium, 60k plus, but would rather avoid them at this stage I think
Seville is a great spot.

I love Seville.

I wouldn't mind us drawing Molde or Maccabi Haifa.

Maccabi Haifa’s remaining home games will be at Honved’s Boksic Arena in Budapest it has been confirmed. A new stadium but only has a capacity of 8,700.

Assume the away team would get a decent allocation though?

As we are seeded, we will be away in the 1st leg of the last 16

Doesn't leave much time to make travel arrangements

Particularly as it will take Villa and the host club an inordinate amount of time to get the allocation and arrangements sorted meaning we become the victims of dynamic travel pricing for air travel.

In order to offset a bit of this I’ve done a spreadsheet for all 16 R16 possibles and planned some cheap travel routes to get some cheap deals as soon as the draw is done on the 23rd. Suffice it to say it’s a bit complicated and I’m just praying we get a team with a decent away allocation.
Dependent on where it is, an Interrail 4 day pass is 283€ for an adult (bit less if you're under 27 or 60+), covers travel on the 1st & last day in your own country, and travel on the Eurostar (though you have to phone them up and reserve a seat, which costs 30€ flat rate).

Still, it's all fixed price regardless of when you book, so should be the maximum door-to-door cost as it were :)

I'm going to be in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I just looked to see how long it would take to get to Razgrad, where Ludogorets play, on public transport. 15 hours! Quicker to go to Istanbul.

I went to Plovdiv in 1994 and it was a lovely city. The Birmingham of Bulgaria (as in their second city).

It reminded me of Birmingham as soon as I arrived.

One of my cat's 3,768 names is Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Her other geographical names are Cumbernauld New Town and The Semi-Autonomous Region of Nogorno-Karabakh. Thanks for asking.

I’ve spent some time in Plovdiv, although not recently. I like it a lot, and was thinking of making a trip this year. ‘The city of the seven hills’. It’s a decent drive from there to Razgrad, through the Stara Planina mountains. I’ve done a few road trips through the mountains between places like Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo.

Ludogorets used to play their bigger fixtures in Sofia, and I saw them beat Basel in the CL at the Levski Stadium about 10 years ago.

If we were to draw them and it was played in Sofia, that'd be very doable.

I'm really hurt by that. Surely you've known me long enough not to need question marks.
