In order to offset a bit of this I’ve done a spreadsheet for all 16 R16 possibles and planned some cheap travel routes to get some cheap deals as soon as the draw is done on the 23rd. Suffice it to say it’s a bit complicated and I’m just praying we get a team with a decent away allocation.

I'm going to be in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I just looked to see how long it would take to get to Razgrad, where Ludogorets play, on public transport. 15 hours! Quicker to go to Istanbul.

The Birmingham of Bulgaria (as in their second city).

I like it a lot, and was thinking of making a trip this year. ‘The city of the seven hills’. It’s a decent drive from there to Razgrad, through the Stara Planina mountains. I’ve done a few road trips through the mountains between places like Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo. Ludogorets used to play their bigger fixtures in Sofia, and I saw them beat Basel in the CL at the Levski Stadium about 10 years ago.
