looks better in centre midfield that right back or centre back.

Played really well today, looks very composed and confident on the ball and breaks up the opposition attacks well. If he continues in this vein, it'll be cheerio Onana in Jan.

With injuries and suspension we need options to come into the team. Bogarde is now a solid option and back up to Kamara.

I would like to see him in midfield alongside Kamara with a full strength defence behind him.  I think he would show us how good he is.

Prophecy fulfilled! I thought he was quality today.

Did well today. The more he plays the more settled in the side he looks. A bonus for the squad at the minute.

looks better in centre midfield that right back or centre back.

Weird that… I think the games playing out of position will have helped his progress.  the adverse noise has hopefully made him more determined and thickened his skin.  Next step is to add some arrogance, so he feels he belongs.

Defo a DCM.  His distriution and control is obviously enhanced by playing alongside the coolest player at the club, but he's really coming of age this season.  Props to the lad.

He didn't really have a bad game at centre half either and lets not forget his games at right back were his first handful of appearances so you're not comparing apples to apples.

I suspect he'll play there more than anywhere else but I still think his ability to slot in as CB or RB will play a big part for us over the next few years.

He’s game has really come on. Malen was MOM but Bogarde wasn’t far behind.

I have a feeling he could be a very important player for us for a long time and Emery clearly thinks a lot of him.
Excellent performance today.

Always thought he was the standout player from his group. Today, for the first time at this level, he showed why.

Reminds me a bit of when JJ, who didn't seem to have any particular attributes when he first got into the team. Started running past players & went up a couple of levels. Hopefully this is the same.

Just as Malen has given Unai a selection problem for the next match, so has Hedley.

The old issue of picking players on merit is up for discussion after today.

Pretty accurate analysis from Pablo back in Jan-24 (third post in this thread).

He's very quick.

He can play CB, RB, CDM, so is versatile, but seems to prefer CDM of late.

He's 6'1", comfortable on the ball, can pick a pass, can break up play, has good energy, & likes to drive forward with the ball at his feet from CDM.

He's highly rated at Villa, but with all youngsters, he's far from the finished article & is still a bit raw all round the edges.

But physically, especially with his rapid speed, he is pretty decent, so with the rest of his skills, he should be half decent & get better as time progresses.

Weirdly, I think it was Joey Barton who has got the best out of him at Bristol Rovers so far, but he was mostly in defensive mode.

If he can get a loan to a club that play possession football, we may see a more creative role from him as a deep laying playmaker.

I think he's been exceptional in his last two games.
