That ref is awful , even worse than the arrogant Oliver.

He looks hapless before you even start to review his refereeing.

Not sure he got much wrong did he?  Got the Mee one right eventually.  Got the kamara one right even though it’s soft.  Got the none penalty right got the bookings of Watkins and their bloke right.  Got the Maupay booking right.

He got the Mee one wrong and was watching it from a few feet away, the bellend. And sending of Kamara when about half a dozen players had done as much or worse.

Anyone else notice how pussed off SJM was with Kamara when the ref showed the red?
McGinn needs to stop manhandling players in the box at corners or he's going to get punished for it one game

But even though I didn’t think there was an argument on the Mee one lots of others did.  Hence why he needed help from VAR.  it did its job in this occasion.

Mee was pulling as well but then suddenly lost his footing in that way that Burnley used to get loads of decisions for and clearly practised.

Kamara getting sent off was Kamara's fault, not the ref's.

I would have sent Maupay off and recommended a 6-month ban, just because he's a prick.  He was a prick when we played them in the Championship, he's been a prick whenever we've played him since, and he was a bigger prick than ever yesterday. Can't stand him.

Every player does it unfortunately, and if McGinn doesn't, then Mee manhandles him out the way and has a free header. Both the ref and VAR agreed it was both players at it which is why it was not a penalty.

Delighted with that win.

Under any other manager in our relatively recent history other than Emery, we lose that game.

Was nice to sit in 2nd for an hour or two, but to gain more ground in the top four race is good to see.

Not a vintage Villa performance by any means, but good teams grind out results when not playing particularly well.

Fair play to Watkins for giving stick back to that fan. Brentford players response was a bit of a disgrace.

If fans can give stick out, they have to expect it back.

I always respected Paul Robinson whenever he visited Villa Park. He got some stick, he gave it back & we all smiled & clapped each other at the end.

The Maupay / Martinez debacles were ridiculous on both players parts. And helped get Kamara sent off in the aftermath. Which is absolutely huge as he is a key player. Maybe Iroegbunam can step up in his absence?

Martinez should know better & as much as I love him & respect his ability as the best goalkeeper Villa have had, certainly in my lifetime, he has this habit of acting a bit of a twat & putting us in awkward situations.

Both teams should be punished by the FA for that debacle. Brentford again for their reaction to Watkins reaction...

Wesley seems happy

https://twitter.com/wesleymoraes09/status/1736438455385698648

Im so happy for Wesley that we not only got that dirty little shit-c**t Ben Mee sent off, but it became the turning point of the game & effectively won it for Villa.

It was about four years too late, but he got it in the end.

I despise Ben Mee for what he did to Wesley.

I watched Wesley playing for Stoke over the weekend & he is done as a half decent pro.

Such a shame that an absolute filthy clogger like Ben Mee got to continue playing top flight football, while Wesley has gone from bad to Stoke, all thanks to the fact that Ben Mee doesn't have the talent to do his job properly & has to resort to being a filthy c**t...

I missed the game! Why did Torres go off? Tactical? Anyway, another win which is brilliant.

Yeah, tactical. 2-1 up against ten men, with their sole attacker being that muppet Maupay. Surprised he didn't take Emi off as well. (Might have been an idea if he had! ;) )

As soon as he limped off he removed his left boot and sock...took a knock from yet another late Brentford tackle earlier!

Yeh, even if he was provoked, you can’t do that. Rush of blood to the head for a player that doesn’t have that reputation. Live and learn as they say. All our players need to do better because it will only get hotter as the spotlight shines on us. We need to keep our calm on and off the pitch.
