I had a feeling we'd be attacking the Holte first half, not sure if it was our decision or Arsenal turned us round but wrong move if it was their decision.
Arsenal kicked off so it was our choice.

Lovely, unbiased analysis from former Arsenal player Ian Wright on MotD.

Yep.  Should have been wearing an eye patch it was that one-eyed.

Come on now, he's right that the handball law is "the worst law in all laws, not just football".

Much worse than laws that make homosexuality illegal, make blasphemy punishable by death and so on.

Did he really say that?

Probably in the wrong thread but I don’t care - next week I will be 74 and so I think I deserve to be cut a bit of slack

After the full time announcement (thanks PWS) I had a couple of glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon and reread the introduction to Simon Inglis’s “Villa Park 100 years - a great Midlands Sports Ground”

We must never, EVER, move away from VP

Thank you - and what a fantastic few days

We were talking about this on the way home. Completely agree. The transport links are shit and all the rest, but we cannot ever move from Villa Park to some souless bowl by the NEC. The 150 years at that location is everything and what we can hold onto.

I do genuinely think they'd delay knocking down the North Stand for a few more months if we make CL.

We'd be back in Europe's premier competition for first time in 40 years so why hinder things by having an empty stand behind one goal and be playing infront of just 30k when you factor in having to rope seats off and away fans?

If it's going to be an 18 month job and fully operational for start of 2026 season then I assume January-Feb is feasible if you give everyone sitting there option just to purchase half season tickets or something like that.

Win by one goal again.

I think that Emi may get another clean sheet so this could be another cagey 1-0.

A night to remember at VP.

We announce ourselves as serious contenders for the CL spots but also for the title.

Me and Brazilian Villan will be on here at 10pm just before MOTD starts wearing our sunglasses and smirking at another fantastic result

FTF  8)

We'll still be unbeaten when we win.

1-0 Villa.

BV get in here and put your sunglasses on  8)

 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I might take them off now it's midnight.

It was a great decision.

After Wednesday it was always going to be a struggle to be on top in the second half and so we need to feed off the Holte from the off and hopefully get an early goal and we did.

This is where having a world class strategist in terms of Emery really pays off with analysing the small details as let's be honest none of the other managers would've noticed it as it's just tradition to attack the Holte second half whenever possible.

Just glad to get the win and glad I wasn't at the game, as my nerves would have been shot. We rode our luck a bit, but they were fortunate on their last visit to Villa Park so f*ck them.

Emery it seemed looked at this double header and developed a plan of 2 very different approaches . The bloke is an absolute genius
