Sure i read they beat Redfilth in a behind closed doors friendly 3-0 as they have not played since losing to |CiteŁ

Im not sure they are the dirty fucking cloggers that Dyche had up there but feel that we should have enough to take the sting out of their early pressure to take control of the game.

3pts would be very welcome

Martinez (I'm sure last nights withdraw was only a precaution)

Konsa
Pau
Digne

It may be tougher than we expect but we should have enough for a win.

I’d agree with this. We should have too much for them but they’re a different team under Kompany and they’ll be up for it in their first home game since promotion.
They already played at home opening Friday night v CiŁy 0-3

Oh, I thought that was at Man City. They’ll still be up for it though and perhaps feel as though they could get something.

We only seem to deal in 1890s scorelines at the moment.

Think this will be the starting XI, other than I can see Konsa starting RB and him playing the same back 4 that played last night - Carlos and Pau central.

Emery doesn't really like both full backs pushing on in the away games, so it'll be either Digne or Cash who he tries to create room for on a wing - after his performance last night it feels like it will definitely be Digne. McGinn cutting in from the left hand side and causing chaos creates so much room for Digne to deliver crosses in. So Konsa to continue at RB and make it a back 3 when we're in possession.

I'd take a 1-goal victory - think this will be a really tough game - Burnley played quite well v City on the opening day. Scoring 9 goals without reply in the last two games does make me much more confident.

Burnley under Kompany are a VERY different beast than they were under Dyche.  They played most Championship sides off the park last season, playing possession-based football, moving the ball with plenty of fluidity and creativity.  However, it's obviously easier to pass it around someone like Preston, than it is to pass it around premier league side.

I think it will be much closer than people think. I wouldn't read too much into the Man City result.  I'd take a win by a single goal, definitely.

If they can impose the same playing style they deployed in the Championship, I could see them being comfortably mid-table this season.

I agree with this and think it will be tight and there is no doubt Kompany has done well and may do well again this season, but can also see a scenario where if we get our noses in front, we might be able to hit them again on the counter late on.

I can see them holding out for long enough, and we might not score until later on, but once we do we'll get a couple.

3-1 villa.  Burnley really shouldn’t be spoken with in the same breath as the villa

Their kit is much nicer than ours so you're probably right there.

If anything else, our match fitness should be far superior. We've played three times since their last game ( which was also their first and only game so far of the season).
They played Man U in a friendly yesterday and won 3-0

T'int the same. We're much ready-er, like glow in the dark Ready Brek. They're slothful, sloppy, over-milked Weetabix.

They never have those in stock at my local Sainsbury’s, bloody annoying.
