I think we might be agreeing.

Although I’ve heard the term in lots of places outside of here. One of my seven a side team mates used to use it regularly.
Maybe he knew Sarunyu.

Maybe he was Saranyu. Double hard Sheffield chap who loved having very minimum two pints before a game and was still the best player on the pitch.

18 minutes of added time, that's adding on another 20% of the original time. If that's become the norm, a 50 match season will in effect become a 60 match season. I reckon 90% of the Everton fans were past Stafford Services by the time the final whistle blew.
they started streaming out when the 3rd went in.

The added time thing is just stupid.

Most damning thing about Everton is how many of their players would you want in this squad? Pickford in place of Olsen and then it's a bit of a struggle.
I'd probably take Danjuma. He was their only ray of hope today.

Maybe Onana too.

Onana played some lovely long passes in the first half, but soon descended to their overall level. I thought that Danjuma looked shite, we dodged a bullet there.
Nah, Danjuma was the only one who looked like making something happen for them. Can't do it all himself though.
That's not to say I want him here. I really don't.

I disagree. For way too long teams have been wasting time and getting away with it. If the players don't like the amount of time added on then the simple solution is to not waste time. I think the refs are being particularly stringent on it early in the season to prove the point. Teams will have to adapt and then it will come down

Very impressive  performance  today. We looked like a classy side brushing aside a bunch of also rans. Early days but I think it's going to be a memorable season.

I have a feeling that one of Luton, Sheff Utd, Wolves and Everton will be very thankful at the end of season that the other 3 were even worse than them.

I thought the same. Danjuma came on and for about 10 minutes they looked mildly dangerous and then Sean knows the game inside out Dyche brought on Maupay and fucked it up totally.

Routine victory which, coming after last week, is most welcome.

You watch the likes of McGinn & Luiz (although minor critique - he needs to cut out the silly bookings) now and the levels they’ve gone up under astute coaching is incredible. Diaby is going to be some player for us and hope today boosts Bailey’s clearly fragile confidence.

Just reading Dyche's post match comments.

"I could have taken the whole team off at half-time. They were by far the better side.

We started well, but it reminded me of last season when we conceded a goal and you smell the group going soft very quickly. You concede another one then everyone is looking at each other.

You have to accept a collective downer, I can hardly pick a player who was anywhere near what we can do. Villa probably had the reverse."

Yes I think this too. I reckon yellow cards being handed out earlier for time wasting will also make teams think twice about slowing down the game.

Also today, there were a lot of stoppages for injuries:  Luiz, Calvert-Lewin, Iwobi, Coutinho plus a few others.

In addition, added time for a goal used to be typically 30 seconds, but that has been extended this season to be more realistic and is now at least double.

From Grand Old Team (about 40 mins in) :  "To think we picked Ronald Koeman over Unai Emery 😂. We deserve all that we get."
