Screw all this 'wishing him well' nonsense. What is this, tiddlywinks? I was listening to claret and blue this morning and had to switch it off.

He got to play in the champions league with us under a world class manager. He got to win a trophy with us. He no doubt got offered a lucrative contract with us.

Like Yorke, Bosnich etc any villa player going there - especially now- can absolutely get fucked.

Agree. I know it isn't very nice, but I challenge anyone not to be a little big smug if he pulls up in pre season training with a minor injury that keeps him out for a month or two for them. Not wishing it on him, just it is quite natural to not only not give a toss once his gone but to almost wish it to fail as a move.

I'm a miserable bastard and I enjoy a good boo, but I don't think I'll boo Tielemans. I don't think I could bring myself to politely applaud him whilst he's playing for fucking Manchester United, but my feelings towards him are closer to what my feelings were towards Benteke, Luiz, Young etc when they left, rather than Yorke, Bosnich, Downing etc.

Which I imagine will be a great relief to him as he signs his £200k a week contract.

Takes the edge off we've actually won something with him rather than feeling what might have been.

I’ve never booed a former player and I certainly wouldn’t boo Youri. But then I’ve never really enjoyed pantomime either.

I'm going to throw a brick at him when he returns to VP in that shirt. It will destroy my laptop but it will teach him a lesson he won't forget in a hurry.

£35M profit on a 29 year old, who made 134 appearances for us.

I think the profit factor meant that there was always a possibilty he ws going to go if an acceptable offer came in.  £35m is a bit low in today's market though and I can't help but feel that it's a blow to us given that he's been a really important part of the team.

With Tielemans gone, Onana out for the season and Kamara coming back from a serious injury, it does raise questions about central midfield.

Neither Bogarde or Barkley are good enough either, and one or both could be moved on still, so that's a lot of rebuilding we need to do in the key position on the pitch. If Manzambi is more competition for Buendia/Rogers that still leaves a gaping hole on other side when McGinn is out. A hole we have struggled to fill for years.

Exciting times in one way, granted Onana and Tielemans situations changed in the space of a couple of weeks, but to find their replacement will be a big challenge. Wharton would be ideal I think but whether we can spend that kind of money is doubtful.

It will be a real Cinderella story when we finish above them and knock them out of 3 cups.

We never came up with decent songs for Tielemans or Digne. Maybe it's our fault they're going.

I'd be suprised if Carrick has the attention to detail or the absolute rigour to implement a system in Man United, across a season, to get the best out if him. I have doubts ans I hope they're fulfilled as Man United are a title outsider like we are or more likely a rival for top 5.

I'm ok with it now as it makes a bit of sense.  I'm ok until such times as i see him kissing the badge then my pacifism takes a break while I batter the bastard.
