The words:

Was walking down the Witton Lane one dark and dusky day
I spied a poor city fan a-running far away
I said to that poor city fan “it’s time for you to die”
He said “yes I know sir, Holte enders in the sky”

He ran down the terraces and fell towards the gate
Little did he know that death was sure to be his fate
He had one more short  hour to live
And then he’d hear the cry
That every city fan does fear
Holte Enders in the sky

Their fists felt just like granite and their pockets lined with lead
And if they catch a city fan he’s sure to wind up dead
Cuz Villa fans rule Birmingham and city fans know why
Cuz they have seen the glory of…
Holte Enders in the sky.

Good and bad memories, it’s easily cleaned up for all .

It’s been ‘cleaned’ up. I should think there’s a tiny number of people who know the verses.

Blimey, bit horrible really.  Football and death to any fan, Birmingham or otherwise, isn't something that I'd like associated with Aston Villa.

Nobody who has seen Green Street could say that. Such a realistic depiction, and I'm sure Percy will back me up...

There have been a few real life examples too.

A Blues fan died in what became known as the Burlington Arcade massacre in the early seventies, then I’m sure we all remember the hit and run after the 5-1 game.

Was that related to football violence?

I remember speaking to some fans on twitter years ago who believed Holte Enders In The Sky had always been a song of remembrance for those who have passed on. Doesn't seem right to me, we sing it as and when for as long as I can remember, and now seeing these lyrics, even less so!

Not being a prude, honestly, not with the job that I do. I happen to have a Villa hooligans book from about 20 years ago. The song is aggressive and seems distasteful and we Villains are such gentle folk 😂

If I remember correctly that Burlington Arcade incident was before a preseason "Friendly " against the Blues.
Sir Brian 2 Beelzebub 1 , I think or did Anderson score ?
I did not know some one died in the Incident.
