Football and death to any fan, Birmingham or otherwise, isn't something that I'd like associated with Aston Villa.Nobody who has seen Green Street could say that. Such a realistic depiction, and I'm sure Percy will back me up...There have been a few real life examples too.A Blues fan died in what became known as the Burlington Arcade massacre in the early seventies, then I’m sure we all remember the hit and run after the 5-1 game. Was that related to football violence?Yes.

It’s like a lot of folk songs. The original songs are often quite brutal or depraved but change over time.
Even though it wasn’t intended as such, i like the idea that holte enders in the sky has morphed into a epitaph for fallen Villa supporters and players. Feels really classy like that. I also love it when it echoes around Villa Park, on a cold bleak winters day, feels quite eerie then. Completely original to us as football chants go.
