My mate sent this on WhatsApp and it made me chuckle:

"Every week we follow you boys in claret and blue, we're jealous inbred scumbags and we're obsessed with you.
We got not fucking history, we've only won two cups, we'd love to get promoted but we always fuck it up....
Allez Allez Allez"

To be fair, I was enlightened but he needs to tell the rest of the Internet because it's f**king everywhere.

Blimey, bit horrible really.  Football and death to any fan, Birmingham or otherwise, isn't something that I'd like associated with Aston Villa.

Nobody who has seen Green Street could say that. Such a realistic depiction, and I'm sure Percy will back me up...

There have been a few real life examples too.

A Blues fan died in what became known as the Burlington Arcade massacre in the early seventies, then I’m sure we all remember the hit and run after the 5-1 game.

Was that related to football violence?

Yes.

I didn't know that.

Checked that result and scorers curtesy of a google search that brought up the Oracle that is John Russell
Yes Villa 2 Blues 1 scorers Anderson 2 Latchford  1
I think the Sir Brian and Beelzebub score line is a couple of years later in our youth cup winning year

Even though it wasn’t intended as such, i like the idea that holte enders in the sky has morphed into a epitaph for fallen Villa supporters and players. Feels really classy like that. I also love it when it echoes around Villa Park, on a cold bleak winters day, feels quite eerie then. Completely original to us as football chants go.

It’s like a lot of folk songs. The original songs are often quite brutal or depraved but change over time.

The Villa-Blues youth cup games were the same season as the friendly game.

When did it first appear on our ‘Song sheet’?

I don’t remember it being sung when I first started going 70-71 in the 3rd division.
I’d certainly put it not long after that, though.

I've never heard any of the verses sung at VP and tbh I'm glad.  If I heard about Blues singing a song like that I'd be calling them out for it.

The Trevor Francis dive game ...we lost 2-1 was our first year back in Div 1 , at the end of the game I witnessed some of the worst scenes I have encountered  at football .

The Villa fans totally lost the plot ,pulling policeman of their horses smashing buses driving by and charging to the steps of the Kop bricking the Blues as they attempted to come out .

This wasn't a few this was literally 1000s the walk back into town and town itself was evil

HEITS became mainstream late 80s but the original version dates back to the early Steamers I believe .it was sung a fair bit in the Hole in the Wall late 70s

That game
If I remember Phillips was sent off and Gray gave away the Penalty (maybe) which Francis gratefully accepted.
They had a team of cloggers, Burns, Gallagher and got away with murder.
