Fair play to Brighton, certainly not on the beach but we did it, what a great achievement from where we were in October!

Now the thread is created, it’s totally unthinkable as to where we ended up this season.

When we lost to Fulham 3-0 and Gerrard got fired, it was a sliding doors moment. If we had kept going for longer, we would have been down in the mix. What has actually happened is simply incredible. Emery’s appointment was a stroke of genius. What form, what a run, what a team - and we have pulled off what many of us would have thought was unthinkable 6 months ago.

Our mentality was very strong today - Brighton are no fools and deserve their position. And they made a game of it too. But we defended that game excellently. Watkins huffed and puffed and glad he got a tap in.

But my goodness… what a season! UTV!!!

On another day we’d be rueing the chances missed (that Ramsey one!), but all is well that ends well
