I quite like the way the claret fades into black there. Not a bad idea for a kit design.....

I do like a fade to black.

Of course, it might be like Guinness, appears black but is actually dark red.

I've since realised that this seasons training gear is black and claret, and I really love it. Wouldn't work as an away kit because it's still claret, but predominantly black with some claret detailing would make a really nice 3rd kit.

So the claret lion which looks much better than an insipid yellow lion on a blue background is the issue you have with the current circle badge? 🤨

Yes.

It's shit. And in disappointed how they've snuck it in. We needed it changing and we've ended up with something worse than what we started with.

I think it looks quite smart there, better than I thought it was going to look. I know people don’t like the shadow, but if you are going to have the star then it helps put the lion into a different plane so he doesn’t look like he’s being menaced by it.

As for Heck and not giving a fuck about tradition, well I don’t think that’s really true. A lot of people think respecting history is doing things as we’ve always done them, and it’s an easy stick to beat something we don’t like with.

Heck will appreciate the history of the club because he’ll use it to sell the club to new fans and sponsors as part of the brand, but it can’t be the whole brand.

His job isn’t to maintain the traditions of Aston Villa, it’s to grow the brand and revenue to the point where we can start winning things again and adding to that history. He’s doing that so far.

Looks okay to me - I will not be losing any sleep over the design of our badge

Hopefully next season we will win a trophy or 2 with this badge on our shirt.

As for Heck - he is doing the job the 2 owners have employed him to do, I am 100% certain that they also had a say in the badge design and they must have given it their approval, if you don't like the badge then don't buy any of the merchandise with it on.

Maybe the folk on here who are constantly slagging off Heck also don't like the owners of our club?

Think it looks fab and the correct shade of claret.

Can't wait to see full kit

I still can't understand how anyone looked at that design and thought it was a good idea, but to be honest it's not really a major concern for me and is down the list in terms of priorities.

That curve is very similar to Arsenal's bottle-shaped new look.  But they can't have given us the same template.
