Liverpool have rejected a £150m offer for forward Mohamed Salah from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

The bid was for in excess of £100m, with add-ons taking it up to £150m.

Liverpool insist the player is not for sale, and that is final as far as they are concerned.

Would be hilarious if he kicked up a fuss and forced the move

Do we need a Coutinho replacement? Given how much, or rather how little, he contributed last season, would Kellyman not do as a squad replacement?

Yeah but his injury status wasn’t to goal was it? We wanted him to contribute, so that is a gap we need to fill. I would say it’s too soon to have Kellyman covering that.

I don't think we do, as we've got Diaby, Zaniolo, McGinn and Ramsey who can all play that role along with Buendia when he returns.

I'm not counting Buendia in any calculations for this season at all.  But even without I feel like we've got enough, at least to get to January and reassess then.

Moving Coutinho on frees up more than than 1 space in the squad, it gives us an elite level wage back, I think we'll try to make use of that but maybe not as a direct replacement.

Yeah, I'm not blaming him, but the reality of it is we're not losing a first team regular starter who played 90 minutes every game for us. But I see what you're saying, that is what he was supposed to be.

Bailey too, with Traore adding some depth.

Mings and Buendia will hopefully be back in training in February so I wouldn't rule them out coming back into the equation for maybe the last part of the season. If we're doing well without them, they could bring a nice boost to morale and options.

Everton spending £45m on Alex Iwobi when he was a promising attacker at Arsenal seemed utterly nuts.

Fulham spending £22m on him, with a year left on his contract, as a terrible central midfielder seems far more nuts.

Imagine being a Fulham fan now and seeing Paulinha go and Iwobi come in. So depressing.

McTominay may be the Paulinha replacement.

I think McTominay is a decent enough player.

He's not remotely in Paulinha's class though, definitely not a 6 struggled horribly in the McFred setup. Always thought he might do well in a 8 scoring a few goals, decent athlete but very limited.

Silva has done well to get the careers of Leno & Willian turned around but they had a tough summer with the Saudis trying to get Silva and Mitrovic. They will do very well to stay up.

Iwobi (after a hamstring injury) and McTominay reek of desperation.

Brentford have signed Maupay on loan from Everton. That's an odd one.

He's a poor man's Buendia - just as grumpy too.

Has to be one of the worst signings of the window, strange decision.

Whenever Iwobi moves clubs it becomes, by default, the worst signing of the window.
