If we had 100 players - some on here would still want more, seems as though we want to be a new Chelsea reading the comments

Agreed, it's unrealistic expectations given ow far we have come over the last few years.
It's not unrealistic at all.  With our net spend and recent sales it's entirely plausible that we could sign a striker / winger or right back.

I’m still not sure what is unrealistic about wanting a forward in to fill a gap that’s about to appear.

The injuries to Ming's & Buendia have meant we've had to bring in 2 players we hadn't budgeted for. Zaniolo is the Buendia replacement / Watkins backup, alongside Duran.

I thought Zaniolo was on the radar prior to the injury.

That's how good Emery is, he knew the injury was coming and prepared accordingly.  ;)

If Coutinho goes today hopefully there will be a replacement. With Watkins, Duran, Diaby and Zaniolo we arguably have enough up front.

Everton spending £45m on Alex Iwobi when he was a promising attacker at Arsenal seemed utterly nuts.

Fulham spending £22m on him, with a year left on his contract, as a terrible central midfielder seems far more nuts.

Imagine being a Fulham fan now and seeing Paulinha go and Iwobi come in. So depressing.

I think the lack of striker could lend some credence to the earlier window rumours that we had agreed to sign Tammy Abraham before his injury.

We have already shown that we are prepared to wait for the right player, so there may be some fire to that particular smoke...

Don't joke - we'll probably be in the mix for him too!

I think McTominay is a decent enough player.

Do we need a Coutinho replacement? Given how much, or rather how little, he contributed last season, would Kellyman not do as a squad replacement?

I think he's played well against us in the past but not sure how good he is in general.

Liverpool have rejected a £150m offer for forward Mohamed Salah from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

The bid was for in excess of £100m, with add-ons taking it up to £150m.

Liverpool insist the player is not for sale, and that is final as far as they are concerned.
