Spot on

Tbf, anyone playing at Spurzzz next to the likes of Dier and Sanchez would have been labelled as average.

I think this is a great loan signing

Moans "we are short at the back given Mings injury"
Solution sign an international with Premier League experience from Barcelona on loan
Moans "why have we signed him?"
More moans "we wont be signing a striker and its a mistake"
Today is 30 August not 1 September lets see what happens next
I appreciate this new Villa stuff takes a bit of keeping up with but sit back and enjoy the ride

Exactly!

I still think a forward will arrive…probs on loan.

We also have Coutinho who was being linked with Qatar whose window doesn’t shut to 18th Sept who will poss go

Lenglet and Zaniolo would make up our quota of allowed loan signings.

Feels like we were linked with enough Barca players that one would eventually stick.

Isn't the two loan limit for domestic loans?

Not another player who isn't Spanish or American!

By Christ when you put it that way...I mean, it's a shame about the youngsters, but in terms of established senior players it looks like a genuine arrival into the big time.

We ain't getting any more forwards are we.

Personally think this is a mistake. If Watkins gets injured we have nobody. He can't keep playing 40+ games a season every year. We've been lucky so far.

Why aren't we?

Just a hunch. No links either.

Lenglet makes total sense with Mings being out, good cover and can play how Emery wants too from the back. He was very highly rated pre Barca too, so let's see how it goes.

A forward to finish off the window would be excellent, and give the depth we need.

Anyway, once this one gets confirmed I think that's us done unless Coutinho leaves and I suspect the hold-up on that is us waiting for the player we want as a replacement, Qatari window closes on the 18th so no rush from their side right now.
