We need a centre forward who can score 8/10 chances they get.  What we have now is 5/10.

Eh? We have a 1 in 2 striker and you want a 4 out of 5?

Read it as marks out of ten and it makes more sense! ;)

Assuming Mings is out for a while, we need three players at least before the end of August.

We still have Torres and Carlos for LCB and Carlos, Konsa and Chambers for RCB. I'd keep Chambers. Getting another option at RB was a must at the end of last season and is still a bigger priority now.

Carlos who’s recently come back from an ACL? I wouldn’t be chancing that.

Carlos was a snapped Achilles wasn’t he?

Even worse.

I’d disagree, we have lost the organiser and the one who attacks the ball…unless Torres or Carlos can take on those roles we are vulnerable in the key position because Konsa is and never has been capable of either role.

We really need Monchi burning the midnight oil this week. Get that Italian kid in if he's any good. No Samatta-style panic buys please.

I've been to see Halesowen Town in the seventh tier of English football today, and Iegitimately think that none of their back line would have been worse than Villa's today

Yesterday I was thinking of posting something along the lines of how, with the world and his wife saying we're headed for a very good place, this being Villa, we all knew what would happen.

I didn't but hey, I was fucking right.

Ah yes in which case that solidifies the point more. We need experience and numbers.

I'd pair Torres and Carlos the next day. Agreed on Konsa, worried about him without Mings.

I thought people were over confident about today and this was always going to be a really hard game. Granted I didn’t think we’d completely give up and ship five, but a loss was always on the cards.

The Mings injury is a huge blow and is massively disruptive, but if we can navigate through it I can absolutely see us having 6 points from 9. Not easy, but entirely possible, and then things will look a lot better.

I said exactly the same to my mate.

Reminds me of 1997/98 under Sir Brian. Had just had a good season and finished 5th. Splurged out to get the "missing piece of the jigsaw" in Collymore, and also added the well regarded Alan Thompson. Lots of feelings that this could be "our year", then lose the first 4 in a row including a 4-0 home dicking by Blackburn.

Absolute minimum we need in the next two weeks:

A central defender
A forward/striker
A right back

They need to be quality too, and we should be looking to double what we've spent so far.
dont forget a back uo keeper. If Martinez gets injured we are screwed
