Late move for Brennan Johnson feels inevitable to me, can play across the forward line and upfront if necessary.

Interested how often he features for Forest as he was on the bench for their final games of last season.
But have we left it too late now Spurs will be in the market?

I can't see Spurs spending the bulk of the Kane money on a kid from Nottingham Forest.

It’s interesting there’s an increasing value on proper central midfielders like Rice and Caceido. Makes the value of Dougie, Bouba etc ever more clear.

Luiz and Kamara are simply miles ahead of likes of Caceido and Lavia. Some clubs getting very desperate now. Fair play to Brighton for getting that ridiculous money for Caceido.

They signed him in 2021 for £4.5m. In 2 years, they've turned a 106.5m profit.

20% of that fee goes to the club Brighton bought him from, which is great business for them too.

Ben White - £50m
Dan Burn - £13m
Cucurella - £62m
Bissouma - £25m
Trossard - £25m
Graham Potter - £21.5m
Maupay - £10m
MacAllister - £40m
Caicedo - £110m

Unbelievable business.

How have they done this? Do they have someone in the background targeting players instead of the manager, has it been more than one? Who ever it is or whoever they are they certainly know how to spot a potential superstar. I’m surprised they haven’t sold their talent scout yet.

There was a video on YouTube about their recruitment process and apparently they use really advanced statistics to make their decisions. The guy who owns the club made his millions(billions?) through a company that basically advises on high stake bets. They use the same maths, or algorithm, or whatever it is, in their recruitment efforts.

Apparently the guy who owns Bournemouth (I think) was his business partner for a while, but they fell out and now he's doing something similar there.

They have some algorithm thing that helps sort out players with potential.

Its a big secret within the club & I think the software comes from their owners company.

I cant remember the full details though...

They're a selling club, you've got to factor that in. It's part of their model and pitch to players too that they can move on.

If we were a club like them, actively selling our best we could have:

£50m for Luiz
£40m for McGinn
£50m for JJ
£60m for Watkins
£70m for Martinez

Unenviable profits etc etc

Obviously agree with your overall point, but Maupay sticks out a bit in that list, given he cost them twice as much as they got back for him.

The one that stands out there is £62m for Cucurella.

Every time I've seen him play he has been utterly bog standard or plain shit.

It's amazing isn't it. He is useless and massively worse VFM than Dan Burn at £13m.

True.  I also think Trossard, Bissouma and MacAllister were worth more and sold cheaply.

It’s fascinating and absolutely incredible how many they sold at such huge profits but also remained in a competitive place in the league.

That algorithm must be worth a fortune one day!
