My Roma contact reckons the ex-Next Big Thing for club & country, never recovered from injuries but a decent manager might be able to recapture past glories. His biggest problem is a tendency to keep his head down too much and not pick out better options.

If he's 6ft3 he'd still have a clear view of all our players even with his head down.

Zaniolo has been pretty strongly linked almost all window, so I doubt he's the Buendia replacement. Probably more Traore as a squad player with different skills. He looks like a talent, and we all know Emery likes a player he can build back up, so Monchi may have sold him as a project to Emery.

I'd be gutted if Gnotto went to Everton. He's scary good for his age, and fearless. I'd love him as an option at Villa.

Well it looks like Kane has agreed to go now. I wonder if they'll reignite interest in Brennan Johnson?

Interesting Emery confirmed Zaniolo interest, he’s normally pretty closed on names. Perhaps we’re trying to put pressure on another selling club.

Wasn’t Monchi’s time at Roma widely considered a bit of a disaster?

He signed Olson there.

Ta. I did love that smile Monchi gave Rob Dorsett (? Sky Sports chap) yesterday when asked about further signings. Seemed very confident.

I think the same, I watched him a fair few times last season and he was really good. However I have read this morning that Leeds are not ready to sell him and I don't blame them.

I like Gnonto. Fast and a little raw/unpredictable. Could be a useful squad player.
