Besiktas apparently back in for Coutinho. He wants 4.5mil a year in wages, which is about 86k a week. We'd presumably want a decent fee for him too.

https://turkish-football.com/besiktas-make-move-for-midfielder-philippe-coutinho-e4-5m-per-year-being-demanded/?amp=1

Any fee we have to split with Barca 50/50.

Yeah, I was more wondering about whether they could afford him and his wages, regardless of where the fee went. Think there was talk yesterday about Turkish clubs and money.

I think we'd let him go for next to nothing, happy to get the wages off the books if Emery doesn't fancy him. I'd get rid, he's had a handful of good games.

Surely we can get the Saudi's involved if we want rid.

Gregg Evans theory

"Without getting the once-magical Brazilian on board, there probably would not have been Lucas Digne or Diego Carlos or even Boubacar Kamara at Villa Park.
Douglas Luiz’s decision to extend his stay at the club, as other Premier League sides asked the midfielder to run down the final year of his contract and then join them for free this summer, would have been more difficult and perhaps even the head coach, Unai Emery, might have had second thoughts about Villa, too"

Gregg Evans can speak sense so hardly an idiot. Provided plenty of info and insight on Villa yet seems to get readily dismissed.
Today he said;
"With Coutinho among the squad’s top earners at £135,000 per week, and with three years to run on his deal, a sale would free up funds. Clubs in Turkey have shown interest but were put off by his salary. Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq, now managed by Gerrard, are understood to be keen"

He talks more sense than you, I’ll give him that but it’s an exceptionally low bar.

Nothing wrong with me theorising they just aren't for you. You have your own options and theories but it's good to be open to acknowledge others or things that you wouldn't consider.

Let’s get Phil on the same plane as Henderson, save on the old carbon footprint and all that.

I want 86k a week too.

I'd accept it per annum.

That's exactly the profile of player I'd thought we'd bring in for that position, young, Spannish and someone I'd never heard of.

6'2 right back defender that's Monchi working his magic.

Yeah I think we'll see a few young up and coming Spainards coming to Villa over Emery tenure.

I can see a Spanish-speaking goal keeper coming.
