Ooh, that's good too. See, this is an element often overlooked when signing players. Gnonto scores  100 on the singability scale.

Lots more talk of Diabloy today and our 50m EURO bid.

I think if the player is set on coming then it could be done soon, if he's happy to stay then I think they'll hold out for the 60m.

If we spend 60m EURO on him, how much more do we reckon we will have in the kitty this window? And will we be looking for a striker?

I expect that we'd probably still sign one more attacker, but I reckon they'd see Watkins, Archer and Diaby as suitable cover for the one-up-front position and we'd then be looking at competition for Bailey.

If we get Diaby, I think we'd go for a younger forward like Johnson or Gnonto, and that would be more or less it.

I've seen Dendocker, Digne, Sanson, Traore, and Nakamba linked with named clubs, and a couple of things saying we're considering them, but there's been nothing to imply any real movement on any of them.
International players were back yesterday at training but I think there's still some faces missing, so maybe that's the best indication of something happening?

I terms of forwards yes, but we still need a bit more cover at full back and goalie.

Florida is hardly a beacon of hope for the lgbtq+ community, or people of colour. A number of organisations have issued travel warnings for the state, so while they're not at the level of Saudi Arabia, it is a fair comparison.

That's funny because Florida quite literally WAS the beacon of hope to all the Cuban refugees that escaped the wonderful, loving and caring utopian Castro regime. Unless of course you don't consider Cubans to be "people of color"  ::)

The yanks had been pillaging the country with their puppet dictator for decades, but you go with your Hollywood story

What.. they had a transfer embargo for the second half of the 1900s and the US just starting normalizing relations within the last 10 or so years under Obama. Americans can travel there, not as tourists, after jumping through hoops. Puppet dictator Castro.. for Russia..?

LeeB is referring to Batista. I don't think anyone will dispute he was a U.S. puppet dictator from '52 onwards.

Yes I was, thanks Scott.

Agreed - if that’s the case then it’s time for Archer to be the back up striker.

Wasn't the Monto, Dublin's red light district in the rare aul times?

Yes; North East Dublin.

James Joyce would be your main man to wax eloquent and byzantine.

That's just what this thread needs; some Joyce 😉

Rumoured that we're in for Llanez, the young American winger at Wolfsburg.

All very similar these wingers we are linked with, all short quick and skilful, so that’s clearly what Unai feels is needed.  Hope he’s better than the last Ulysses we had!

Absolutely. As Lee says, I think they'll bring a new reserve goalie in, and maybe a right back, but in terms of high profile signings it would be a brilliant summer, with strength and competition in all departments. Oh and a bit of pace, which we've missed for years.
