Interesting that we’ve had zero links to goal keepers, which I would consider an absolute priority.

Not zero, we've been linked to Bono. But unless Martinez leaves, which there are no signs of, I'm not sure who we'd be linked with when all we want is a backup?

A backup GK link or two? I’d call it an absolute priority as we are truly f***ed if Emi is injured. I’d also expect we’d do the usual play the backup in the cups routine.

That's my point though. I don't think anyone willing to come and be Emi's back up, maybe never even play, is going to be worth reporting on until they've signed.

Johnson AND Diaby?

Ok, but only if they're back up for Chukwueze.

That would be a really impressive double signing. Not sure how I feel about digne going though, especially if moreno is out for any length of time (and all the talk of having two for every position)

I always thought it likely that Digne will move as he's a top earner and very much second fiddle to Moreno

I must have missed Digne being linked with a move away. Would be a shame as it weakens us in our current situation.

Percy (John, not the one that can write good and that) said in his tweet about our interest in Johnson that they fancy Digne, but his wages are a stumbling block

I'd bet they are. Presumably the only reason they'd sell Johnson is because of the massive FFP reckoning that they now have steaming down the tracks and he'd be a way to easily fix it.

Don't see adding Digne's wages to the other column really helping.

We ve been linked with Tierney of Arsenal more than once (seen in on here I think) so that might come into it.

I know Moreno is miles ahead of Digne in that position, but with his injury keeping him out for the start of the season, would it be wise to let Digne go?

Yeah good shout that. He's a fine player if a bit brittle, and a nice playmate for Meatball

I guess it does make sense, but only as long as they get a replacement in.

Maybe Unai’s thinking Torres at LB is good enough cover and have a more progressive right side until Moreno is fit?
