Ibrahim Adel: Aston Villa are one of a number of Premier League clubs keeping tabs on 22-year old Egyptian winger Ibrahim Adel, who currently plays for Pyramids FC in Egypt

Hmm...not sure about this one, probably reached his peak at 21.

The Twitter rumours / nonsense / filler this morning:

Moussa Diaby: Aston Villa have now submitted an opening bid for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby. Offer thought to be around €28 million and will be swiftly rejected however Aston Villa will return with another bid soon.

The article I saw said Leverkusen expect to sell him this summer and feel our initial offer was good for an initial offer.

It rarely happens in football, obv.

But with his past success there, a swap involving Bailey and some £ on top would make sense.

Sounds like Sinisalo is going out on loan to Exeter on a season long loan after Saturday's game.

Genuine question, as I know people watch a lot more German football than me, is Diaby any good and would he be a good fit?

Yes, he's really good. Really kicked on when Leverkusen needed someone to replace the speedy creativity of Leon Bailey when he left.

So he should be ideal - but in much the same way that Bailey should have been ideal.

We're being linked with Maguire again, Dwight Yorke apparently telling him Villa would be a great move for him.

To be fair to Maguire, I watched a video on YouTube talking about his "downfall" and they made some really valid points about his past levels, how he performs for England, and the general shit show that has been swirling around Utd the past few seasons. However, even if he moved to a club where the manager backed him 100%, and he was to get back to his peak form, he's doesn't suit our style of play at all.

I just don't understand the insistence of linking him with us all summer.

I think Chambers is fine for our "fifth choice centre back" needs.

Seems Dwight's opinion of the two clubs involved in this (shit) rumour is the same as it was in the 1990's when he fucked off up there.  Not good enough for 'Utd' but we should snap him up.  Right oh.

Macguire is on 200k per week we won't be signing him unless ManU pay off his contract

It does feel like that's the sort of thinking behind the rumour existing at all. Like everyone has accepted he's not good enough for Utd and needs to drop down a bit, and we're deemed an acceptable level to drop to. The fact the rumour persists even after we've signed Torres and now have 4 options in the centre of defence is baffling though. Gareth Southgate is the only one starting Maguire over any of our 4.

We need another keeper then to sit with Olsen on the bench.

Maguire is the antithesis of a football playing centre half - he is terrible with the ball. This is never going to happen. I'm glad as well - too much baggage.

Seems as though Diaby has doubts about joining us - probably wants to join a Champions League club.
