I bet Marco Asensio is delighted he joined PSG and not us with all the madness happening around Mbappe. PSG now threatening Mbappe that if he decides to see out his contract and go for free they might have to sell members of the current team to offset the potential loss of €200m. Could have joined Unai’s revolution Marco.

I suspect he’s probably not that worried.

No in the grand scheme of things probably not. But there’s a good chance if Mbappe sticks it out PSG are hugely compromised in the French league let alone in any plans they had for the CL. They only won the French title last season by 1 point over Lens despite having Messi, Neymar and Mbappe. No guarantees they win it this season. I’m clearly looking at things with immense bias but at his age having won so much with Real Madrid doing it in the PL would have been a great step for his career.

Dendonker wanted by teams from 4 different countries apparently, and more than one team in each place.

I wonder how soon we'll actually start moving people on? There's at least 3 that have serious interest in them from teams. Will we hang on to everyone until we've made more signings, just in case?

I was thinking this is terms of complete lack of outgoing traffic. Last season we sometimes only had 8 on the bench, two of whom were keepers. UE perhaps feels that all he wants to do is add right now...

My Dad was also there in 57 and would insist that Harry Greg had set himself for the charge that inevitably led to his downfall.
It wasn't Harry Gregg in goal, it was Ray Wood

Duran and Gnonto are not at the same developmental level. Evidenced by the fact that one is being chased by several Premier League teams and the other is most likely being loaned out to a lower level to earn experience.

Agree, and we don’t have to sign Gnonto as a starter either. If we can spend 19mill on Duran, as a long term project, Gnonto seems less raw and less risky/untried, for similar money.

If we only have the option of spending on one wide player, it’d be wiser to spend it on an established starter, which is what Paul_e keeps coming back to, I think. Presumably we could do both.

Surprised to learn that he's only 19. I thought he was 3 or 4 years older than that

Listening to a Leeds podcast with Phil Hay (Athletic journalist) it appears as though a lot of Leeds players had it written into their contracts, that if the club was relegated, they could leave on a loan deal to another club, quite a few of their current players are leaving on loans.

Maybe we could get Gnonto on a similar loan deal with option to buy if he does well.

Also Tyler Adams, who we are interested in, is supposedly good at winning the ball, but is not a midfield player who is very good at passing (sounds similar to Marvelous)

I think your Dad was right, though. The keeper did seem to brace himself, thinking that he was strong enough to withstand McParland's charge.

Gnonto isn't thought to be one of the players with those clauses.

The 49'ers group want to keep Adams but he might not want to have a year in the Championship.

Leeds bought Gnonto last summer for £3m and now want £40m.. good luck with that. He's an interesting, intelligent player, potentially brilliant but he's a massive risk. My guess is he'll go back to Italy.

Adams is just a destroyer. Does exactly what's on the tin, not a lot more, keeps it simple, the kind of player you want away from home against tough opposition.

None of these seem to have any concrete sources behind them, but after trawling through every click baity article imaginable the last few days, the players we are consistently linked with at the moment are:

- Barnes
- Gnonto
- Johnson
- Bono
- Weston McKennie (seems more like the player/agent than us, to be honest)

Bono isn't happening unless Emi leaves. I'd take any of the other 3, but I think I'd be happiest with Barnes. Obviously you'd want more to come too but Torres, Tielemans, and Barnes would be a pretty good window, I think.

Watched the game on TV, just as now it was all about unlucky Man Utd and Villa wouldn't, shouldn't have won, as a 13 year old it really took the shine off the win.

If it happens, we won't see CDBWF on here anytime soon.
