back up keeper is hardly headline news, it’ll just happen & at a guess it’ll be a Spanish keeper who the goalie coach knows or has worked with.

I don’t understand it either
Olsen is the worst goalkeeper I’ve ever seen at Villa I can’t believe he’s still in the frame

I've seen us linked to a keeper but it implied a replacement for Martinez rather than a back up. So not really what we're looking for.

Yes but it’s all just different levels of utter shite.

Yeah there's been some links to Sevilla's keeper but he wouldn't come to play back-up.

And I'm yet to see anything that actually suggests Martinez might leave. All the "links" with other clubs have been pure speculation based on the idea that he's too good for us, and then they've just linked him with any of the "big" teams that need a keeper.

Lille and Strasbourg apparently interested in Sanson. Lille looking for loan, Strasbourg to make their loan permanent.
Doesn't feel like he really ever got a proper run with us, but if we can make back a bit of what we spent on him then I hope they start a bidding war.

Olsen is dreadful and gave the single worst goalkeeping display I’ve seen live at man u away in the league cup last year. Kalinic in his few games runs him close as the shittest Villa keeper. He couldn’t jump, get down on the ground quickly or catch the ball, he was essentially a very tall bloke who other people decided to ask to stand in between two metal posts.
Nervous Nyland a close third, though he was literally a fooking world beater in the Leicester semi final home leg.

Second half away at Brentford wasn't good. You could actually see the defence's lack of confidence in him.

Ortega at Man City, who they picked up on a free transfer from Arminia Bielefeld last year, is the kind of signing I would like
to see us make. They identified someone whose style of play suits theirs, is happy to be a No.2 (with lots of cup games obviously), and good value. That’s where a good recruitment structure obviously comes into play.
