I think Pulisic was very good, but injuries have knackered him

£50m sounds the optimum they’ll get this summer. More like £35m plus £10m conditional based on what he achieves.

If that’s their final valuation then they can have the £15m Davis as part exchange.

They prob value him so high after they paid what £40m for Gibbs White?

I try to see as little of Chelsea as possible, but whenever I've seen Pulisic he's struck me as an extremely shit player.

You didn't watch the recent US v Mexico game then !

Dos Torres, por favor! I apologise for not knowing the plural of Torres. I like the look of Ferran, he might not have produced the level he is capable of, but he's a player for sure.  Still think we need back up for R back, winger and striker/forward.  Then replace any future departures.  That's 4 players more, minimum.  6/7 quality signings in one window would be an incredible level of investment, even with Youri on a freebie.

Gnonto is more than just a half season wonder. He's a full Italy international.
Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Conor Gallagher etc etc are all England international but I wouldn’t touch em with a barge pole.

That’s a very accurate summary of the said article.

He may have only one PL season under his belt but that was an impressive debut season for a 22-year old, in a side that struggled for much of the season. Plenty of time and potential for him to develop and probably suits Emery's tactics very well in that striker come right winger role.

Would come in as back up to Watkins, though probably has the potential to overtake him in the next couple of years.  Can also play wide right if needed.  It would be a lot of money for someone who would probably not come in as first choice, but has a lot of potential.

I see a few places running with the idea that Barnes might not want to relocate his family, thus making us the favourites. It got me wondering if he's actually got a family, and judging by his instagram holiday snaps, his missus is expecting a baby in the very near future. Arguably easier to move a baby than school age kids, but also understandable if they didn't want to add moving house to an already stressful time. I'd imagine they weren't expecting to be in this position (Leicester relagated) when starting a family.

I'm sure players have made decisions primarily with family in mind, but at least we're not a terrible option he'd have to settle for. It's not like he's looking at playing for small heath or something

Puli sic is a great player, would definitely want us to be bidding if he is available for £20m

Yes he is a long way from being a shit player.
He has suffered  with injuries and also playing at the shit show Chelsea became with about 9 players in his preferred position.
A fit Pulisic would be a fantastic player for us but the cost and risk is likely to be prohibitive.

I think wide players tend to split the room opinion wise more than any others, personally I don’t trust them as much as other players on the pitch and find myself berating them for going missing in games constantly.

I don’t know if I’m an outlier or whether others feel the same.

Do we want wide players who come to life in the final third or do we want wide players who track back dutifully? If it’s the former then Bailey needs to significantly lift his game to stay first choice, if it’s the latter then we need new blood.

Emery will know what he wants and I’m happy to go with that, be it a Barnes / Johnson or wide player from La Liga.

Back-up keeper seems imperative to me.
Right back cover is clearly necessary, unless Konsa is seen as first-choice.
I think Emery will try and bring in someone who can play both wing and back-up striker, which suggests Johnson and Gnonto as prime suspects.

I like Brennan Johnson and get why Forest are asking that much, but it just seems to me there will be far better value in Europe.  We do need to up our quota of home grown players, but I just don't see us spending £50m on a player with one (very good) season at the top level.

I agree, £35m and we should be interested but much more than that would be excessive.
