Agree with that Dave. I do think he might get a chance.

I wouldn't mind Gnonto in as a prospect, as he seems a stage further on than most of our kids, but I really would be getting the Harvey Barnes deal done. Even if Emery couldn't improve his work rate (which I think he would) you're not getting any less work than either Bailey or Traore, but you are getting a far higher and more consistent goal output.

Talk of us being in for Gnonto.

I think he has bags of potential and could be a great signing.

He looked great for the first half of the season for Leeds. 2nd half, hit and miss mostly and towards the end of the season his form meant he didn’t get a start. There’s a very good player there in the right set up.

I agree.

It'd be harsh to criticise any player for tailing off given the enormous juggernaut-towards-cliff which was Leeds' season.

He's only 19 as well so there's always likely to be a bit of inconsistency at that age.

Dendoncker is a safe pair of hands and his passing is good, but he's as slow as continental drift and has the turning circle of that enormous tanker that got trapped in the Suez Canal. He's never let us down but I think we need more a more dynamic sub option.

Last ten minutes against Stevenage notwithstanding of course.

I've been pretty anti Barnes much of the time, but his numbers are very impressive for a wide player. He's probably as safe a wide player signing as we could make that would improve the team. Him and Gnotto as 2 new wide forward options over Traore and Bailey would be OK

Can't we move Olsen on?  He's an absolute bomb scare

Personally, I think Dendonkar is different to most of the others and if we are looking to move him on it’ll be in view of signing someone else, I’d hope a similar but quicker and more mobile version. I guess we’ll see.

If we move Dendoncker on, I think it's more likely because they see Iroegbunam as being ready enough to be part of the squad - if we sell him and buy a replacement, it starts to become hard to see how the latter has a path into the first team.

Yes quite probably, if Emery thinks he’s good enough to get introduced next season then fair enough.

Gnoto would be a reasonable shout at the right price and as I said several weeks ago I’d be quite pleased with Barnes, always looks good when I’ve watched him. If Emery is looking for wingers we could certainly do worse than those two.

Incredible to think Olsen used to play for Roma.

I wonder what kind of transfer genius recommended THAT signing?

Errr, hang on....

I'm going to pretend they went over his head with that one and it was one of the issues that led to him not succeeding there.

Based on no factual information whatsoever, but enough supposition for The Spectator to run with it.

I really hope we get Ferran Torres

Assuming Pau comes in, I love the shape the team is taking.

Pau Torres passing from the back in to the intricacy and agility of the likes of Moreno/Ramsey/Tielemans down the left-hand side of the pitch will create lots of space for Ollie and a new right-sided attacker. Ferran Torres has pace and goals, he could be a 10+ goal man for us.

It might be worth it to take him on loan with an option to buy. He didn't do much at Man City and he sat on the bench mostly at Barcelona.
He did look good at City when he played to be fair and was really good for Spain in that period. I'd take him at the right price.

If last season is anything to go by, whoever comes in as a wide player is unlikely to start every game seeing as we didn't play with an out-and-out wide player in every game.  Therefore we might take more of a risk on a player with potential than more of an established one.

That said, if the price I heard of £25m quoted on the radio for Harvey Barnes is correct then I think it would be good business.
