I really hate it when it's quiet like this, the inter-season no man's land is hell for obsessive types like me.

Sad as it is to think, I spend so much of my year on Villa that taking it away for a few weeks leaves a stupid hole of nothingness. That's why I reappear on here to annoy all of you, it keeps me sane.  ;D

Talk today of Teun Koopmeiners. Haven't we been linked with him before?

Half suspecting Teun Koopmeiners is actually flemish for 'absolutely nobody'.

When does that joke start again? Couple of weeks maybe?

Israeli-Mexican striker Noah Juan will be linked soon.

On the bright side, it's tennis time of year, so that distracts the Mrs from making my life miserable for hours on end.

Koopmeiners seems to score a lot of goals for a defensive midfielder.

Me too although I don’t mind a bit of Wimbledon. Unfortunately my wife isn’t distracted by Wimbledon or anything else really so the non stop cycle of blood pressure raising aggravation goes on all year.
The month of June really is fucking boring without a major tournament despite the better weather and light nights.

Like.

BBC, tennis coverage all afternoon and half the night some of it simultaneously, turn over to BBC 2 and it's today at Wimbledon.  Do fuck off!.

I love tennis but Wimbledon Twee as a genre is as reliable an emetic as is known to medical science. Always much preferred the Roland Garros vibe, in the same way that Pimms is loathsome and Ricard is the apex of civilisation. Which always made it awkward for me as I've always been more of the Federer than Nadal persuasion, but you can't have everything.

What pisses me off the most about Wimbledon is that I have only been once, and I was sent off up a hill to find strawberries, and when I came back down my other half had vanished.

I spent ten minutes searching for him before he finally reappeared, stuffing his face with strawberries and telling me he'd just met Patrick Stewart.  >:(

I wanted us to sign him a few years ago and mentioned him a few times. Can play Centre back, DM or CM. He's got a great free kick, takes penalties and has a decent shot on him. I think he'd be a really good addition as a replacement for Dendoncker.

If there is one game I cannot abide it is tennis.

As dave said, Wall to wall coverage on the BBC with both the men grunting and the women squealing every time they serve. Anyone would think you was watching porn if you had your windows open.

I loathe it.

I'm surprised we're not being strongly linked with Samuel Chukwueze. Reports claiming Milan are offering €20m and have already agreed personal terms.
