Didnt Chelsea sell Lampard to New York FC who are owned by Cite£ who then loaned him to their rivals Man City?

Its always been dodgy as hell. A very fine line between clever massaging of the rules and cheating is becoming an ever bigger line

One of the Portugese papers reporting that Sporting Lisbon are holding out for us to meet Pedro Gonçalves's €80m release clause but so far we've only been prepared to offer €40m.

The real story in that article is the salary we are offering compared to what he earns at Sporting. There's not a chance they come even close to matching it. We want him but don't want to pay the €80m that Sporting have been insisting on since day 1. By making so much noise about the fixed price it doesn't leave Sporting's board with much wiggle room. The hope/plan is to keep him for one more season.

I'd hope we can put together a package with add-ons that all sides can agree on. Right now Sporting are STILL chasing that Swedish striker from Coventry as €20m would be a record signing for the club. Maybe a bit more cash up front on our side could be the deciding factor?

I would imagine we're in no rush and Monchi may well take over negotiations. While we may not be prepared to go straight in at the release clause, it would be fair to assume that 40m is only our opener.

Since they first said they would only sell at the clause price, they've obviously gone back to the other part owners and restructured the ownership package from 50% to 10%.

Hopefully we can negotiate a deal.

I've read the end of the month is when we're likely to see a decision, at least on the side of Pote.

I've not watched him play, where do you see him fitting into our team, in the Buendia slot?

Yup. he can play on the wing but he looks a natural 10.

Being linked with Joao Felix.

I'll eat my own cock if we sign him.

Too much of a risk at €80m. It would be a big chunk of our budget. When he's good he's like Coutinho but he's not at that level every game. He's also a bit of a lightweight, plus he's a really intelligent player that needs intelligent and technical players around him making the runs. Watkins and Bailey don't fit that criteria. I guess it depends who we bring in to add to our attack. Strangely enough, Archer has the football brain to link up well with him but we can't bet the farm on Cam delivering week in, week out.

Fucking hell, Chelsea shipping deadwood to Saudi investment fund owned teams to get their FFP situation sorted is quite clearly crooked as fuck.

And Sky Sport have spoken about it on their transfer show and didn't say a word about the crookedness.
