Wolves agree sale of Neves to Saudi team for £47m.

I don’t know how anyone can want to play in that horrific, fun-free, depressing, medieval hell hole.

Bet he’s glad he’s leaving it.

Thank you Paulie. Your brilliance has absolutely made my day.
Well done. This is nicked.

Interesting theory some one posted on the BBC HYS about it.

Al Hilal’s owners also own …..Newcastle. Neves wanted to play in Champions League….cheap loan from AH to NUFC to help NUFC get round FFP, with AH paying most of the wages and no loan fee??? Cynical? Me? Suspicious? Me? Damn right!

Newcastle's new Saudi sponsors are paying £25m a season (?) to have their name on the shirt. I know the Barcodes have more pulling power now that they've qualified for the CL but is that market value or does it look inflated?

Interesting, and if this loophole is a get around because Wolves won’t sell to the barcodes, this needs looking into. Staying on loan with the club who sold the player is different but brokering this type of deal is altogether rather underhand.

It wouldn’t be because Wolves won’t sell to Newcastle, they will sell to anyone who pays the money…it would be to put the cost against the Saudi club so it never shows against Newcastle and in terms of ffp would be a ‘free’ player

It wouldn't be underhand. it would be straight up cheating (although i suspect, technically, not cheating). I suspect (/ hope) it's a few panicky musings on internet forums though, rather than anything concrete.

Also being reported today is that the Saudi PIF, who own Newcastle, are also major investors into Clearlake Capital, who are majority shareholders in Chelsea, who are shipping all their unwanted, wagebill draining players, to the Saudi leagues top 4 clubs, who are all owned by the Saudi PIF.

So all completely above board and no shenanagins at all, no siree.

I agree it looks iffy, but, to me at any rate, most shirt sponsors are a mystery. I've googled manyoo's and spurs', and I'm still little the wiser.

In related news, it seems the league have put the kibosh on Chelsea's prospective deal with Paramount+

Edit: having read the posts above mine, maybe they'd have had more success negotiating with BeIN.

Even acknowledging the point to which it already has, money will eat this game in the end. Especially dirty, oily money.

Yes, this is very concerning. Apparently Boehly was in Saudi Arabia for meetings last week, so it will be interesting to see if Saudi clubs start buying Chelsea players for exorbitant amounts to alleviate their FFP concerns.

They've always been cheating feckers. Remember their "Under-16" team that beat Scotland in the 1989 U16 World Cup final. https://twitter.com/WeLoveBettingUK/status/1409149013698355200

One of the Portugese papers reporting that Sporting Lisbon are holding out for us to meet Pedro Gonçalves's €80m release clause but so far we've only been prepared to offer €40m.

That's just comical, especially the GK who looks about 16 x 2

The stuff going on at the moment is a concern though, they'll end up fucking the game up altogether.

Fucking hell, Chelsea shipping deadwood to Saudi investment fund owned teams to get their FFP situation sorted is quite clearly crooked as fuck.
