AC Milan are interested in signing Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have reportedly put the 19-year-old midfielder on the transfer list.

The first part is very surprising, the second part is not at all.

Also, Samuel Chukwueze.

Yes please.
Chukwueze and Jackson at Villarreal look fantastic

I think AC Milan are after Chukwueze.

Imagine him on the right & Leao on the left...

I don't know whether this has been mentioned, or whether two players being signed on frees equates to a 'policy', but if it is, it strikes me as a good one. We get quality in, in a way that's kinder on our FFP record, and we're not giving potential rivals a big chunk of cash. More!

Transfers are crazy, so it only makes sense to spend big on truly transformational players.

Tielemans on a free, or Ward-Prowse for £30-£40 million?  You may rate Ward-Prowse higher, but he's not £40m higher.

Manchester United will only accept a permanent deal from Newcastle United for England defender Harry Maguire, but they would consider loaning the 30-year-old to Aston Villa. (Sun)

Obviously not a great link.

I don't get all these Maguire links.

We are supposed to be in the market for another centre back, but surely there will be better options out there for us?

He has another two years on his contract so will cost us, he'll be on a big wage and will want to drop as little as possible, if at all, and he's not significantly better than what we have to justify too much of a spend.

If he was on a free, I'd understand it and it might make sense to get him in for depth, especially as he's partnered with Mings for a few games before too. But if it means spending, I'd rather see someone who has potential to improve us come in.

I doesn't make sense even on a free, we play a high line and he's got the turning circle of a ferry. I'd be amazed if Emery is interested.

Only makes sense if we going to mix and match and play 3-4-1-2 in some matches. Can't see it happening.

Why do Yanited like us better than Newcastle?

Presumably because nobody wants to help Newcastle, in particular those who feel most threatened.

And the longer they consider us 'non threatening', the better.  It will make the shock of us being ahead of them next season all the sweeter :-)
