Aston Villa want to sign Manuel Lanzini as West Ham United contract set to expire

https://www.westhamzone.com/transfers/aston-villa-want-to-sign-manuel-lanzini-as-west-ham-united-contract-set-to-expire/

“The 30-year-old experienced star is also interested in the Argentine club River Plate, along with Aston Villa, one of the Premier League teams.”

What is going on ..............

We don’t need another inconsistent Argentinian attacking midfielder when we already have one. We need someone who can look after the ball

completely agree

not good enough

Gregg Evans
@greggevans40
Good start from #AVFC to get Youri Tielemans on a free (big contract offered as NSWE are prepared to loosen wage structure this year).

Nothing in the reports on Alex Oxlade Chamberlain at this stage, though. Villa are not close to signing him.

fingers cross he's right

I hope "not close to signing him" means "were never interested in signing him".

Aston Villa and Tottenham are chasing Italian attacker Nicolo Zaniolo, 23, from Galatasaray but face competition from Juventus and AC Milan for the player, who has a 35m euro (£30m) release clause. (Tuttojuve.com)

Last January, he left Roma to join Galatasaray. However, he has a release clause worth 30 million euros which would allow him to leave the Turkish champions.

Moreover, Galatasaray might even accept a lower offer for the 23-year-old if they fail to progress through the Champions League qualifiers.

Nearly joined Bournemouth in January instead of Galatasaray.

Fee agreed, Zaniolo thought he could do better, found out that he couldn't, wanted to resurrect the Bournemouth move but it was too late so ended up in Turkey.

5 goals in 10 games for Galatasaray.

If he was a target for Bournemouth in January, those games must have been incredible for him to now be a target for us or Spurs.

It looks like our name is going to be uttered by a lot of agents to a lot of mouthpieces to try to excite some interest in their mediocre clients.

Basically the standard of player we might have signed two or three seasons ago, but are now not good enough for us.

Zaniolo is a tough one to know what to think, 3-4 years ago he was the next big thing in Italy but then he had 2 nasty ACL injuries and missed 18months of football. If he can get back on track he can still be a top player but I think the Roma fans decided he was fucked and wanted him gone. It's probably a year too soon for him to get a big move to a top league, he really needs to have a run of this sort of form for longer before anyone would spend big on him, I think.

Article in The Athletic on Tielemans and the window;

https://theathletic.com/4599176/2023/06/11/tielemans-aston-villa-transfer-premier-league/?source=user_shared_article

“Emery is focused on going deep into the domestic cup competitions this season, too, after falling at the first hurdle in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup under his control.”

“They will now look to offload Morgan Sanson, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Strasbourg, and Marvelous Nakamba, who helped Luton Town win promotion from the Championship.”

“Leander Dendoncker is attracting interest, too, with three clubs understood to be interested in signing him this summer.”

Sounds as though Zaniolo is a bit of a prima donna. Needs to go to Juve I think.

Yeah, I was speaking to some Roma fans about him & they despise him because he is a bit of a prick.

He might be tall, fast, good on the ball with potential, but Im not sure he is worth the gamble.

Especially for £30m.

We should try for Beto from Udinese instead.
