Spurs couldn't afford his left sock and literally the only position at Chelsea that's absolutely sorted is goalkeeper.

I agree he's not going but one of those Chelsea keepers is tipped to leave.

Can picture him signing and saying he remembers as a kid watching Poch play for Argentina, and always thought he was a sick manager etc.
Just don't accept Kepa the Keepa or Mendy in part-ex. They're both bang-average.

With all their FFP concerns and squad issues I just cannot see them breaking the record for a keeper again, and that's what it would take.

Has this Martinez talk come up again because of something nobody said on Twitter?

I think its just the rumour mill putting two and two together. I dont think anyone really thinks he's going anywhere just more the media hoping he does. Plus the bloke who mentioned 40 million is smoking some great crack so keep an eye out for him!

I'm sure that Romano tweet was from a few months back

Romano was probably just jumping on the bandwagon, like he always does.

People keep mentioning Walker-Peters but from what I've seen he's crap.
I would have rated him lower than that but you know more about playing than I do that so I accept your judgement.

You're too kind my friend

it wouldn’t make great financial business to sell Martinez even for a big fee
If we got say 70-80m for him it looks a lot on paper, but then you’ve got to go out and replace probably for 30-40m for someone not as good
You’ve banked somewhere in the region of 30 million left yourself a lot weaker in the process
It ain’t worth it

I can understand the reason it’s talked about all the time though
We have a world-class goalkeeper, probably the best in the world playing in the European conference league when his level should be Champions League
It’s going to get speculated on whether we like it or not, it’s no good putting our heads in the sand pretending it’s not something people aren’t going to notice

This is Football fellas. It’s what happens in the transfer market.

He hasn't mentioned him. Not in the last few months, anyway.

I’m not sure Romano jumps on the bandwagon does he? It’s a weird existence, but his whole “brand” is being reliable and I’d say he generally is.

Romano's fine, apart from his weird and creepy habit of referring to players by their first names.

A lot of people do that.

Especially with "Trent" Alexander-Arnold.

Pisses me off no end.

My mates do it too. Like they know him & go out for a pint with him every Thursday night.

His shtick is amplifying other people's journalism to a wider audience.

So it's pretty rare he'll be the first to report anything, but by the time he does it's probably happening.

I think most people do it because they can’t be bothered to say his surname. I know what I’d rather type.
