Reportedly (reliable Spanish source) there's a solid offer there which player is considering as he wants more playing time than he'll get at Madrid. Would imagine it would be the same at PSG so let's see how persuasive emery is

If we do sign him I want his nickname to be 'Scrubs'.

There's no money in Italy. PSG have the money but no strategy & no competition in a one horse race. If he wants money, playing time & to improve he'll come to the Premier League.

Whether he'll come to us, is another thing.

I suspect he'll stay where he is.

WOW.

I make a point of not watching YouTube clips as they can flatter to deceive or you can get carried away. Though having watched that footage of Asensio, he looks a special player.

Clearly he scores spectacular goals, and he also looks like he has the pace to run away from defenders with the ball and he has a quality first touch. I might allow myself to get just a little bit giddy.  :D

I hope we're not being used to flush out other bigger players.

The nice thing is that I've got every confidence that the board and Emery are doing everything possible to sell the ambition of the club and offer good contracts. If the top tier players don't fancy it, it won't be through our lack of trying.

I think he'll move. He's tired of being a bit-part player there. And you have to ask whether it would be much different at PSG. With where we are in our 'project', he would be a key player and has a highly respected coach trying to persuade him.

I agree he'll probably move. He's not got a long term future at Madrid, whatever they do going forward. If PSG want to offer him silly money, then fair enough.

The thing that makes me more confident is that Unai's reputation in Spain is immaculate - he'll be a massive draw in this. Other than Pep he's probably the most able manager to convince a player like Asensio to come to the PL.

I'm excited by the fact that we're seriously looking at/negotiating with a player in his profile - exactly the wide forward/second striker we need, but would represent a huge upgrade on what we have at the moment. Gonna be some team next year if we can add 2-3 players at his level.

I reckon hell be announced before the end of the week.

I don't know anything I just think this is happening and is nearly done.

Then we can move on to Prowsey and maybe Guendouzi.

Yep. That’s why we also need the loan kids to come back and prove themselves to the manager. They’ve all done well at their respective clubs but we need kids to add to the existing squad net of any departures, and then proper top quality in key spots and for depth to propel us forward again.
This. Absolutely 100% this. We need to build a squad.
