That Barnes goal against us was wonderful. It doesn't really show up much on the replays, but I was almost directly in line with that shot and I was convinced that was wide until it went in. I think Martinez thought he'd covered it too, so subtle. Had to marvel it at the time instead of being pissed off, which says it all.

It was a beauty, the pass, the way he controlled it, took a touch and finished was sublime. For me it reminds me of how good we were defensively at the time; we'd not conceded in ages and it took something that brilliant to breach our goal.

If Villa were looking to sell one player for big money that wouldn't negatively  impact on the team (in the way seling judas grealish done us for two season) it would probably be cash.
Losing Martinez, Kamara Watkins or McGinn would defiantly weaken Villa but if a £60m bid came through on the fax for Matt, I'd probably cash in.
He's high profile, played against the big guns at the world cup and didn't disgrace himself, but doesn't get in the Villa team much. Also you'd get big fee due to the English player tax. Keep the FFP lords at bay.
Of course the problem is the guy keeping him out the team is knocking on 40, has he got enough in the tank for another season? You might be looking at having to bring two RB's in.

Buendia as well. I'd be sad to see Cash go, but it's his injuries that worry me more than his ability to adapt to Emery's style of play.

£60 million is a bit steep to pay for Cash. More in the £40m - £45m bracket I reckon.

Buendia if we could recoup and a little bit more than what we paid.

Watkins if we were offered silly money around the £80m mark.

Absolute no,no, for Martinez, Mings, Kamara, Luiz.

I think Arse will come in for Watkins and at 65+ he goes.
Martinez likely to be targeted by Manure Chelsea, if they can raise cash from other sales.
If they don’t I think he stays.
I think Bailey will stay as Emery can see that he can open up defences, he doesn’t do it enough but with 5 subs it’s less of a risk.
Most likely leavers Donk Chambers Bert.
Counts ?

If we were offered £60m for Matty Cash there would be no probably about it!!

You get the feeling Cash has struggled to adjust to what Emery wants him to do and it wouldn't be a surprise if we sold him and then bought a Walker-Pieters or someone of that ilk (there's been a few links to Dumfries too). His value has probably fallen as he's not a mainstay in the team like he used to be. Probably more like £25m.

What's happened to Kessler Hayden? Big things were expected of him after his first couple of loans, but seems to have dropped off everyone's radar this season.  Injury? Loss of form? Just plateaued?

He's been out of the team because of getting a break after the world cup and being injured, when he's been fit he's played so I don't understand why so many have bought into the footy conspiracy that he's not smart enough for Emery.

I was going to say Paul, he was out the team as he was injured and also having to play catch up with everyone else to the new managers methods, he was effectively 6 weeks behind everyone else on that.

Ashley was embarassingly swatted away by Barnes. I don't want us relying on him and Cash if we're looking to win the league.

Yes Paul, i read some of the comments above about not being in the team and likewise thought that it's because he's been injured. He's a good player, if a stupid offer came in then fair enough but otherwise i'd definitely keep him.
