It's a no from me as well, he's reasonably tidy but there's no chance he's getting into our team ahead of Luiz or Kamara, I'd prefer any new signings to be at least challenging to start in our best team.

More broadly, and I know it's not entirely fair, but most teams that get relegated do so because they lose the midfield battle, I'd not want a centre mid from any of the teams down the bottom, same reason I'd dodge JWP as well.

Roy Keane did ok at Forest back in the day. There is plenty of good players in poor teams, put them in the right environment and they can thrive. Our disgrace of a team that went down had likes of Gueye, Veretout, Grealish, Ayew...all did well afterwards. We also had likes of Gabby and Richards who didn't.

I don't think JWP is good enough for us, Douglas Luiz is far superior (3 yrs younger) and he would be too expensive as a backup. JWP will get a PL gig elsewhere though. I like Adams, good player and we need cover there. Better fit for us than JWP. Kamara has missed a lot of football this season. Don't think the Donk has really done enough to suggest he will be anywhere near pushing Kamara or Luiz.

Che Adams? Am I living in a different fucking universe or something. Some of you lot are thinking we're still 16th I swear to god

Tyler Adams was being discussed earlier.

Reaction isn't dissimilar

Barnes would be a good buy.

We’d have to hold and give, and bid at the right time.
We could bid slow or fast, but we must get in before the (dead) line

Not convinced, quick but a limited footballer, would be an upgrade on Bert and Bailey but not much.

Barnes always looks great against us, I've never really payed much attention to him in other games.

Just seen Rangers are releasing Moreles and Kent, could've picked up two bargains there if carpethead was still here.

Got a good scoring record this season for a wide player in a poor team. I think he’d be good but expensive.

12 goals I think, not shabby at all.

Indeed. Certainly be an upgrade on anything we’ve got out wide.

That Barnes goal against us was wonderful. It doesn't really show up much on the replays, but I was almost directly in line with that shot and I was convinced that was wide until it went in. I think Martinez thought he'd covered it too, so subtle. Had to marvel it at the time instead of being pissed off, which says it all.

I rate Barnes, but can imagine there will be competition and a huge price tag because he's English

Of all the players we should be looking to sell, McGinn in probably in the bottom 2%.  His arse is worth £30 million on its own.

He's barmy. Defenders in the Premier League would easily wind him up, he'd be suspended for half the season.

It was a beauty, the pass, the way he controlled it, took a touch and finished was sublime. For me it reminds me of how good we were defensively at the time; we'd not conceded in ages and it took something that brilliant to breach our goal.
