Linked with midfield duo  Anida Pizkwik and Amaplattine Maleggges both at Real Sociedad.

That’s how I woke up this morning.

Amaplattine Maleggges

The man who taught Greg(g) Evans the art of the superfluous G.

Mentioned it on the going down thread but it's probably worth having a bit of a list of the free transfers available this summer, because there's some exceptional players on there:

Full List: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/endendevertraege

Highlights:
Skriniar
Rabiot
Thuram
Tielemans
Kamada
Zaha
Asensio
Aouar
Skhiri

Aside from those there are 7-8 others that I think would be worth a look as well, depending on our needs.

Personally I'd take Thuram, Asensio and Kamada. Add Guendouzi and a reserve keeper and I reckon you've solved most of our squad issues for about £35m (but a fuckton of extra wages).

Didn't our imcoming man from Barcelona basically rebuild their squad with free transfers? I wasn't aware of this list until you mentioned it on the other thread and I'm now thinking the two things may be linked.

Yep, that's why I looked into it over the weekend (and then forgot to post on here until this morning).

The issue is obviously that anyone out of contract is going to be after huge money. And while I expect we're not going to be paying peanuts, I don't think we'll be getting involved in the £300k-per-week-plus market that a lot of those players' profiles are going to get them.

Obviously the counterpoint is Kamara, but for all the talk about being excited by projects, I think he's on record as saying that we're the ones who waved the biggest contract under his nose. And PSG are going to pay Skriniar more than we ever would.

I'd be looking at next summer's free transfers, and seeing what you could pick up for a lower transfer fee with 12 months to go, when the player doesn't have the pick of every club. We're probably not going to be in the market for the likes of Kane, Rashford, Vinicius or Saka - but Milinkovic-Savic? Dembele? Maddison? Zielinksi? Pau Torres? Fofana? Williams? Ben Yedder?

I don't think any of those are completely ridiculous if what we're being told is right.

This seems to have taken hold as accepted wisdom, but the only comment I could find was somebody else saying it on his behalf which isn't the same thing at all.

Looking at Tielemans and Thuram out of that list that would potentially go straight into our team and make us stronger. Both gettable too, and whilst they'd cost in wages they would fetch hefty fees on the open market and still have resale value and age on their side

Let's say we gave somebody like Zaha a two and a half year contract on £250,000 a week. That would be £32.5m in wages. At the end of it you'd have no resale value, but I bet he'd have provided better value for money in that time than Bailey, who cost nearly that.

Guendouzi linked with West Ham to replace Rice which I don't like. Also not keen on the repeated link to Moussa Dembele but hopefully it's regurgitated nonsense. Preferred the Vlahović link.

Wouldn't mind that if Rice ends up here. I suspect Rice will go to Man U though, with Fatty Phillips replacing him at West Ham. Guendouzi seems to adore Emery so he's got to come here.

Think Rice will go to Arsenal but spot on with Phillips replacing him, looks like he's leaving Citeh. Hopefully Guendouzi still on his way here.

Guendozi is never going to choose West Ham over us.
