I still think Emery will look to Spain for players used to the slower possession-based style. We can expect more like Moreno.

I definitely think he will.

I remember vinnie on here saying he really, really wanted Pau Torres. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

I hope he doesn't push too hard at that deal.

I wouldn't worry, the man is in command.

You can tell he gives his heart and soul to the job.

Aaron Wan Bissaka at Man Utd being watched apparently.....

So too Mohammed Salisu at Southampton..

AWB is awful, Carlos Cuellar was more comfortable on the ball. Hope there is no truth in that link.

From what I’ve seen he is an excellent defender but not great bombing forward so would suit the current lopsided tactics where the right back rarely goes forward.

The big question is whether he is comfortable on the ball and can pick the right passes.

What I'd quite like is for us to add a few options so we can flip that shape, rather than ones that push us further down the same tactic.

I agree with this which make me wonder why he’s doesn’t persevere with cash as he can do both (just a bit inconsistent).  Buendia will help as he can play (narrow) right and left.

If we have one big transfer in us, say £50M I would like it to be Samuel Chukwueze.  Think he would be a terrific addition to our attack.

Yep, watched his two goals against Madrid the weekend and thought that.

I've watched quite a bit of La Liga this season and he almost always stands out if Villarreal are on.

I've watched quite a bit of him. He's decent at man marking quick players like Raheem Sterling or Zaha but he's a very average defender. Good defenders don't need to go to ground constantly like he does or even the way Cash still does a bit. Has zero awareness of threats in around him, gets constantly beaten by crosses to the back post. Grealish used destroy him regularly as he has no football intelligence. Also utterly rubbish on the ball. He's another poster boy for reckless overspending on young English players. Summary, I think he's sh*t 😄

I’d say that’s a fair summary.

I just don't see us buying a player like that. He's cost a lot in transfer and wages and there's question marks over his ability, much more likely to pay a fraction for some young Spannish/Potuguese lad that turns out to be sensational.

Exactly, as much as I’ve banged on about Harvey Barnes, its much more likely to be players Emery wants, that a good proportion of us don’t know a lot about. I’d say there was a lot that had never heard of Alex Moreno.

Everything we've heard about Unai Emery so far suggests he is meticulous when it comes to detail, so I imagine that he already has players in mind and probably has for some time.

I'd be surprised if we buy any PL based players.  The price premium just isn't worth it, particularly when we have a manager with such wide European knowledge.

Me too Chris, although I think we'll have a nibble at Zaha on a free from Palace.

He would improve us massively tbf.  I imagine he'll be looking for a CL club, but whether they're looking for him is another matter.  But leaving his beloved Palace on a free, I'm not sure he'd see us as a big enough step up.  He'd be wrong of course.
