Lots of Ferran Torres rumours tonight on Twitter.

Anyone reputable or is it just the riff-raff?

Alemany worked with him at Valencia and then signed him at Barca. Could be just the usual 2 + 2 but state Barcelona are in they'll be selling a couple to premier league for 30-40m.

He's still only 23 and already had that 18 months at Man. City where he did o.k amongst fierce competition.

His profile is second striker and can play across forward line so pretty logical player to target for that next step I think.

Torres is a strange one, he's clearly very talented, and certainly did okay at Man City in his 18 months there, but hasn't really set the world alight at Barca? He's still young though, and I imagine Emery knows him very well. So if it comes off, then great!

If we're still looking for young and hungry, Torres could be the man. He was born on 29/02/2000, so he's only had six birthdays.

But you can’t win anything with kids.

His record is 1 in 4, not good enough for a top class striker.

A striker that can’t score at Mancity is not really a striker. Never mind a top class one.

He's not really an out and out striker though, he's more of a wide forward isn't he?

Not bad when you’re only 6, though

I know, but that wasn't really the point I was making.

Yeah, I’ve seen him described as a winger
I thought he was replacement/competition for Bailey & Traoré

It’s not what he’s done in the past but what he can do under Emery’s tutelage that matters.

Very good :-)

I looked at his goal scoring record earlier and thought it sounded a bit iffy until I read that he’s more of a winger / wide midfielder. He has got 15 in 35 for Spain though which is rather good, not sure if his role is a little different? I know very little about him but he certainly sounds in the ‘Caliber’ of player that should improve the team. And if that’s who Unai wants then fair enough.
