Are we stepping on Newcastle's toes with this one? Lots of articles from yesterday or before saying they're faves to sign him.

Has our need for a Buendia type recently increased?

I was enjoying this transfer period but after the last couple of days not so much.

Zaniolo and Gnotto wouldn't surprise me. Both got same agent, who Monchi has worked with before.

#ssn shortly for an exclusive interview with #avfc transfer guru Monchi, who tells me in his first English interview he is working on more new signings this window, and he has been impressed by the ambition of the club he has joined.

Gnotto apparently asked to be left out of Leeds' squad for their cup game and is trying to "force" a move before the window closes.

You may both be right.  I know we do business very quietly, but the links seem to have completely dried up.  It's just got that end of window feel for me already.

Less than 24 hours later and all hell breaks loose.

If it is the case that Zaniolo is coming in on loan because of the Buendia situation it shows how quickly things can be sorted out transfer wise if considered urgent.
Bad luck to Emi anyway, gutted for him as i think he would have contributed will this season. Zaniolo sounds like a punt but one which i think could be worth it. Especially under those circumstances.

Three likely starters now unavailable, Buendia, Ramsey and Moreno. There’s always something to dampen the optimism.

Good news two of those three back in September. It’s a long season and by all accounts we will be bringing in other players.

Gutted for Emi - Worst possible thing to happen to a professional footballer. Hope he mends well.

Regarding the other two - How long are JJ and Moreno out for?

Could Diaby cover Watkins in the event if a not-too-long term injury?

Yeah but who'd cover Diaby?
